Re: Game Discussion
3. A PC may make a free Unmasking roll at +1D to discover the identity of an NPC while the audience is distracted. This does not count as a general event action and does not count toward general event awards.
So...yeah, you go girl.

Oh ho. I am too quick to roll. I was trying to get a bunch of posts before bed out, and I was hasty.
So I may not need that DP after all. I shall add a dice and see where it gets me.

Re: Game Discussion
Well, seeing at worst you would be keeping the die you would have used the DP on, it gets you to Status 6.
Both might get you up to Status 7... and Prince Aegon the Elder was noted for his mistresses and bastards, so I suspect he's around.
Embarrassing the Green's choice for king? Priceless!
Well, it might put a price on your head, but you know. All for the cause.

Re: Game Discussion
Hm. According to Nathan I have Status 6 even with just what I rolled. A DP would get me to 8 (spent on the highest rolled bonus dice of course).
It'd take some luck to get that good die roll again, but lets just see:

[Wrong thread. Oops. Goes here.]
I am loving the banter in the carnival threads! Feels like a grand ball in Orlais if the masks were intended to hide identity as well as intentions. Sans the open perusal of flesh and sex, of course. Hiding behind a mask inspires confidence to dance with words, and it fits attending PCs more than their characters realize...

Oh my, I fuddled up what he said.
I blame lack of coffee. I blame lack of coffee for lots of things. Sometimes I'm even right.
Right, I was thinking about scaling based on passive Status, not the event mechanics.
At worst, adding in the missing +1D would get you a 32 (Status 8 ), and a 1/3 chance of 33-34, (Status 9).
Adding a DP on top of that would get you at least a 36, enough for a Status 10. Unmasking the King could be a dangerous move though.

Re: Game Discussion
lol...yeah. Status 8 is fine. I rolled a 5 on the forgotten dice, so I think the DP is unnecessary now.

That gets you enough for Status 9. Maybe the queen is around.Gwyneth Drakeson wrote:lol...yeah. Status 8 is fine. I rolled a 5 on the forgotten dice, so I think the DP is unnecessary now.

Bahahaha
Well, that would keep Gwyn busy the rest of the night, just keeping tabs on her and who she snuggles with.

Re: Game Discussion
Anyone else thinks that unmasking Ben and Corrine would be awkward? Seven kingdoms thinking 'what they are into?'... It's not that someone is cheating in marriage or present on party being lord's heir or some kind of knight, they went there both
But in the other hand why unmasking effects in status penalty- unmasked person would be judged and gossiped about by people who were there with us xD

Re: Game Discussion
Which brings up a question. Do we make separate unmasking rolls against PCs we have threads with?

Re: Game Discussion
I'm pretty sure that unmasking (Yi Ti event gives another shot at this) is the only chance you have.
Most PC's seems to have disguise tests too high to breach, though.

I think that whenever you have a thread with them you can roll am unmasking roll

The Septon has the right of it:
Of course, succeeding at "unmasking" doesn't necessarily make it public - you learn who they are and decide what to do from there, with benefits to both options.

Re: Game Discussion
Yeah...you could let them know in private, go that route & blackmail, or just full-on shame them in public.
I think PCs get a say in whether they maybe targeted blindly, and whether they can be unmasked in public, by another PC. I think the sensible thing for anyone to do is to talk to someone they've found out in private, unless the PC is aware of having made enemies Malicious toward them (like I have).

Sorry, I think something has been lost in translation. I don't understand that bit.

Yeah, I'm mostly in with Ben and Corrie right now, and Gwyn wouldn't blackmail or expose them.
Tease the hell out of them though, sure.

Who knows... that "I recognized you" conversation could lead to all sorts of interesting stuff, like the lending of a certain book. Baelon might discover that he enjoys reading after all.

Re: Game Discussion
Since it's just for fun, lets do some rolls...
Unmasking check on Corrine: 7d6k5 22
Unmasking check on Bendy: 7d6k5 24
Now...let us check their disguises...
Ah ha! Corrine! I think you're nicked, luv!
Sadly, I'd have needed a very good roll for Ben. Even a DP wouldn't quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite get my check high enough, since the bonus dice are both 2's.
Though Ben's given Gwyn enough clues that if she knows Corrine is there, she can probably guess Ben is too.

Haha! Maybe we'll gift you two a copy of it. They're ten a penny in Dorne.

I agree as many clues as the clueless Ben gives out you would probably get a bonus. Perhaps a cunning memory test for bonus die. Or just wait he will probably blow his cover anyway.
