(PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
It was not another calm night of their journey. With fire dancing on water surface and arrows flying around their heads, tall Dulver was calmly standing among the crowd. Men around ran and kill each other, but he was just waiting there, seeking worthy enemy. His attention was drawn by huge man in full plate, striking anyone who happened to be on his way- enemies and allies, it didn't matter. Heir of Dulvers gladly realized, that this beast of a man also chose him as opponent. Walton improved his gloves, allowing his opponent to enter deck of his ship non-interrupted. With delicate touch he checked greatsword on his back and pulled his longsword out of his scabbard, hitting with it his tower shield in battle in loud metallic thump accompanying his battle cry.
-Stony Heath!- shout as thunder cut the night and after that, suddenly everything calmed and silenced down. There was nothing more for Walton except him and his opponent, as they charged each other...
Initiative Walton (1st) and Malice (2nd): 2#4d6-3 15 11

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
As they charged each other, Ser Walton suddenly jumped into his opponent hitting him with shoulder. Trick worked and now Walton was standing against prone enemy. Dulver raised his blade and with great power landed it on opponent, bending his armor between neck and shoulder. Not this time yet, but Walton hoped to soon see blood on polished steel.

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
Malice had his ball and chain ready -- and was rearing back to swing. But that opened him up, and the knight crashed his shoulder into Malice's chest, throwing him off balance and likewise off his feet. There was a grunt sound from the brute, who tried desperately to bring his shield over top of his head, but, alas, he was too slow. The blade carved him up like yesterday's meat. With a roar, the man rolled to his knees, and under the awful weight of his full plate, Malice climbed back to his feet.

Can Malice take wounds or injuries?
If so, he takes an injury.
Damage: 8 - 4 = 4
-1
[/ooc]
Malice turned and saw the man hiding behind his humongous shield and grunted. He didn't waste words on such a man that would cow behind such an apparatus, instead, he tries to bash it into oblivion.
[act]
LA: Standard Attack vs. Ser Walton's Shield, Smashing vs. 12 Difficulty: 8d6k6 22 vs. 19, Success (1)
7 Damage to Shield
Difficultly: 5/12
Malice has 8/12 HP, 1 Injury[/act]
[ooc]LA: Stand Up
LA: Attack (Tower Shield)
FYI - Malice is targeting your shield with Smashing rules, as requested by the GM. The difficulty is 12.[/ooc]

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
Splints from shield flew around when Dulver covered himself from the mighty blow. He immediately counterattacked, hitting his opponent with wielding sword hand, causing Malice to lose balance once more. And once more he followed with precise strike, this time overhand swing to the neck.

[ooc: I need to find movement alternative, as I'm generally not fan of knockdowns... There should be more climatic alternative to gain advantage like this]
- Ser Walton, round 2:
- Knockdown: 5d6-1 26 success, not often view to see 3DoS on knockdown attempt
longsword +1D: 10d6k7 25 3DoS, again 8dmg

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
- Status:
- Take Injury
Total 2/4 Injuries: -2
HP: 4/12
- Lesser Action:
- Stand vs. D 12
LA: Stand Up: 4d6k3-4 13 vs. TN 9, Success
With a roar, Malice rolls as he's cut again, getting to his knees and deftly draws his feet beneath him as he hops up. His armor rattles heavily as he does just that.
- Lesser Action:
- Attack Shield
LA: Smash Shield (2 Injuries, Superior, Total of -1): 8d6k6-1 29 vs. D 5, Success (4)
7 x 4 = 28
Should be destroyed
The heavily armored man whirls his ball and chain about again, spinning and slinging it violently downward at the man's shield again. Once the tower shield is destroyed, one well placed shot can crush the man's skull or break his back.

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
[OOC: Clarification - the attack would be against the higher of Walton's CD or the shields smash difficulty; in this case it would be Walton's 17 CD for 3 DoS. Regardless, the shield is well and truly destroyed.]

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
Ser Walton drops the useless remains of his shield and longsword, at the same moment reaching his back to pull out greatsword. With one smooth move Dulver strikes from above, delivering vicious blow to opponent's head...
- Ser Walton, round 3:
- Free action: drop longsword
Fatigue point: equip greatsword
Greatsword reckless attack: 10d6k7-1 25 3DoS, that's 20dmg through armor and kill
Brutal kill TN18: 7d6k5 24 success

Re: (PPP, Combat) One journey comes to an end.
- OOC:
- Yeah. At most he could take 2 injuries at -8. Leaving him dead
Malice watches as the tower shield splinters into a hundred pieces. For a moment, he's satisfied with himself, but then, Ser Walton draws forth his greatsword and puts it to use. He tries to duck behind his shield, but the vicious blow comes to quick and too violent. Swinging over the shield, the massive blade smashes and cuts through Malice's faceplate on his helm, slicing through bone and flesh. The man's head jerks to the side, blood quickly filling his throat and gagging him. His hate is replaced by panic when he can no longer bleed. Pain engulfs him.
Yanking his helm off and grabbing his now horribly disfigured face, Malice sees the victor standing over him, victorious. It was the last thing his eyes saw before darkness took him forever.

[Defeat by Vicious weapon, Malice is dead. The paymasters hardly recognize his head when Walton brings it in for the bounty, but seeing the damage done to it and the intimidating presence of Walton himself, they don't argue much.
