[Day 4: Joust, Round 1] Ser Fendrel Bartheld v Ser Tom Piper
Riding on a beautiful bright red chestnut courser, Ser Fendrel Bartheld takes his position at the lists. He is clad in dark armour richly adorned with animal motifs by a master artisan. He bears a shield proudly displaying a Bartheld coat-of-arms of a black boar on red. Lady Ayleth Swann's favour, a checked handkerchief in Swann black and white, with a Bartheld red around each white square, was attached to his arm. The Bartheld knight raises his tourney lance, salutes the crowd and gives a courteous nod to tourney organiser as well as the seated royalty. Then, finding his beloved bride-to-be among the crowd, he nods to her and smiles before turning around and preparing himself for what was to come.

Ser Tom Piper rides in his first tourney, but word from observers is that he's the equal of many of his elders, even if he'll never be Ser Alayne Tarly or Ser Harbert Baratheon's equal. He's disciplined and trains hard, but lacks their natural flair. Still, the seven love a trier...

Ser Fendrel's lance strikes powerfully into the young knight's chest with enough force to seriously wound him, but, perhaps the Seven seem to favour Ser Tom Piper's young fervour as he quite miraculously manages to hit the older knight with just enough force to unhorse him.

: 1d6 1 (somehow I made two rolls for this in orokos, but this one was the first one and the worst one possible)

Result: 20-9=11. 3 DoS. Animal Handling TN 15 required.
Damage: (Animal Handling 3+3+2)=8x3=24-7=17.

Ser Tom Piper is also unhorsed and the crowd lets up a great cheer at the spectacular display of lance placement. Seasoned knights murmur criticism of each man's horsemanship, but the smallfolk don't care, they're here for the spectacle.
Convention would be to finish the affair on foot or for both men to be rehorsed and tilt again, but Ser Tom waves the attendants off.
He's been sorely hurt, but he bears it bravely, content to have unhorsed a more experienced knight.
"
Well ridden Ser, but I fear another pass would see me meet the Stranger before my time!"
[OOC: Ser Fendrel takes seven damage that ignores armour, but irrelevant as it's not enough to KO him, Ser Tom soaks the damage with injuries and a wound but withdraws due to injury. He can't hit the stay in the saddle roll Fendrel achieved. A brave show from Tom.]

Re: [Day 4: Joust, Round 1] Ser Fendrel Bartheld v Ser Tom P
Ser Fendrel falls to the ground with a loud thump, but he is soon quickly back on his feet, not having suffered any serious injury. When he sees that his opponent decides not to continue the competition, he nods to him and speaks, "
Likewise, Ser. I must congratulate you, Ser, you are a worthy opponent."
He says as he approaches the young Piper. He offers the young knight a hand to help him get up.

Ser Tom winces as he get to his feet, limping heavily.
He nods respectfully as he is borne away by squires, unable to leave under his own power.

Ser Fendrel nods to his opponent when he is taken away. He then looks for lady Ayleth Swann and bows in her direction, proudly presenting her favour, still attached to his arm. While he may have been unhorsed - by a less experienced and younger knight no less - he was still the victorious party of this round.

Lady Ayleth is hard to read, but well mannered enough to applaud appropriately and bold enough not to shirk at the violence.
