[Day 4, Round 1] Ser Derrock Swann v Henry Hardyng

[Derrock Swann]

Ser Derrock arrives on his black stallion, wearing the colors of House Swann and House Swann only. He takes a ride up and down the tilts, waving to the gathered smallfolk and bowing solemnly to the assembly of nobles, and lastly to his opponent. He goes to his starting place, lowers his visor, and gathers himself a lance.

The knight spurs his mount into action, preparing to set his lance down and his back high. He aims for a ferocious strike, and rides high.

Ser Henry knows he is outmatched, but resolves to attempt to at least break a lance, so he can say he did so against the famed Ser Derrock!

[Derrock Swann]

The riders collide their lances, and it is clear there wasn't much to expect from the matchup from the onset. Henry's lance glances away with barely a scratch, but he is hit squarely back and is nearly trampled by his horse in an undignified fall. Assistants and maesters rush to see to the man, as does Ser Derrock after he dismounts, and it takes a moment for the knight to rise. He eventually does, however, and the Shieldbreaker nods to him. "
You rode well, Ser. Keep training, yes?"
He says with a honest smile.
