Re: AFK thread
By the way, how did you get such a smooth pic to fit under 18 kb? Mine always lose a bunch of quality.

No idea. I just cropped and resized the image in MSPaint, then uploaded from my computer.

If memory serves, you could upload to some hosting site and then link to it. No 18kb restriction to that.

Remaining D6 and then D7 events coming tomorrow, Saturday at the latest. Massively sorry about the decrease in posting over the last month driven by previously flagged personal events. I was too ambitious in what I thought I could eep up.

I got home last night. Thankfully for most of that trip, I had a laptop I could borrow and a decent connection, if that didn't seem clear.

Re: AFK thread
I had a great time. I got to ride in a boat and kayak on the lake. That was a first, and I enjoyed it, but I mostly kept my eyes on the water and on task. I think I sprained my shoulder doing that, but it's feeling much better now. Went on a short hike. There were some group activities I missed out on, but I made it to the two dinners. The relatives who were there were mostly old folks, but I got to meet up with a cousin I hadn't seen or talked to for nearly a decade. Messed around on the laptop for most of the in-between and evening time. I'm kind of a recluse. Too many new people to meet = too little effort.

You had other priorities that were far more important. At least you didn't just completely disappear

Re: AFK thread
After a some weeks of soul-searching, I've decided to retire from the game. Despite its early promise, it has metamorphosed into a game which is now a greater source of frustration than enjoyment for me, and under those circumstances I feel it's best for me to move on.
This is not a spur of the moment decision on my part - I already e-mailed Reader about a week ago that I was planning to leave, but that I wanted to finish up my commitments in Melee Group 3 first, and finish running Jon through the melee if it wouldn't take too long. However, since progress there has once again stalled, I'm dropping that goal.
I'd like to thank all the players who have afforded me some excellent RP opportunities, and I wish everyone staying on continued happy gaming.
Best wishes,
Jon

We may have been opposed more than a few times, both IC and OOC, but I truly did not want to see you go like this.Jon Cobb wrote:After a some weeks of soul-searching, I've decided to retire from the game.
Fare thee well in both life and games.

Jon, you're a great writer and roleplayer. It's too bad it came to this. Good luck out there!

[size=150:3ptea6gm]An Update
Quick and informative for you guys.
1. I'm still around, fear not.
2. I will be updating my pending posts in a few moments, and I am available if anyone wants a scene with me. Eager, even!
3. The reason for my absence, before today and, possibly, for the next four months, is simple. As I have told Baelon in a PM conversation not too long ago, I am a Med student. Classes have started, and I strive to one day be the best doctor I possibly can. I study upwards of six or seven hours per day, aside from attending classes. I also have a non-related job. So, I love this game and will stick around indefinitely, but bear with me here.
Love, y'all.

That's probably one of the best reasons to not be around much. Go you! I'd like to interact on D8, if that's ok.

Just send the word. I'm only busy on the mandatory events and the melee, so far.

Done for the evening after a more productive Sunday than expected.
Will try to wrap up official events tomorrow and get us to D9 soon.

Could the D8 events be held open at least for the few of us still in the melee?
I'm waiting on the melee outcome to determine injury/fatigue penalties for the champion's feast (they will determine whether I even try to participate) and also whether or not I will have a DP to spend on one of my weaker rolls in the later events.
