Corrine sinks further into her seat in embarrassment, as Dunstan continues, unabashed.

Mother, have mercy, Dunstan! Don't mess this up!

Aofie raises an eyebrow, but chooses to breeze over the statement.

"
We were introduced a few years ago, at a feast held by Lord &
Lady Arryn. We have met a few times since then, at various gatherings. When one is an eligible daughterof the Vale, one gets sent to quite a lot of them,"
she shrugs shyly. "
How did you meet her, my lord? I understand that Lord Benedict was once a Tullison sworn sword."

Yve personally found her brother's blunder quite amusing, but he did need to marry, and Aoife seemed like a good match for him.

She gave her uncle a questioning glance to see what he thought. The girl was at least good enough to cover what Dunstan had said anyway.

Theomore, as usual, does not reveal much, even to an eye knowing what to look for. Though there may be some small signs suggesting that his first impression left things to be desired, but first impressions were deceiving he had said more than once.

'Helpful Uncle...' Yve thought, rolling her eyes slightly.

"
How long are you here for Lady Aoife?"
She asked, turning her attention once again to the unfortunate. "
Mayhaps you will join me one day so that we may get to know each other a little."

"
A week, my lady,"
Aofie replies, cheerfully. "
It would be lovely to spend some time with you. What did you have in mind?"

"
Yes, we met during the tourney at Riverrun! Ben is my cousin, we know each other forever."
Dunstan told Aofie.

"
What are you interested to see in here, my Lady? I am eager to show you whatever your heart desires"
Dunstan says, mainly to see what kind of a person Aofie is.

He was not interested in a weak willed Lady that did whatever was expected, and loved it when a woman had at least some initiative to show.

"
Whatever my heart desires, eh?"
she giggles. "
A dangerous offer to make someone you don't know well,"
she teases him playfully, though her eyes remain a little wary, unsure if she can get away with the informal tone, though hoping she has gauged Dunstan correctly.

"
I like to ride. And fly hawks. Perhaps, if my lord sees fit, he might take me on a ride to see the vistas. I'm interested to see more of the natural beauty of the area. Would you give me a tour of the castle too?"

She seems to grow more interested, now that Dunstan is speaking to her directly.

"
"
I would. But castle is just stone and countless rooms. Let's go outside and hunt. Unless you are afraid of Rock Chewers, that is.."
Dunstan smiles enigmatically and leans toward Aofie - waiting for her reaction.

What are Rock Chewers?"
Aofie asks, clearly curious.

A tribe of mountain clansmen that live on these lands. Savage folk, very dangerous."
says Dunstan.

EDIT: Changed the post since the battle didn't yet happen.

[Side note, I don't think we actually have fought that battle yet, but I suppose we could roll with it.]

"
Well, let's avoid them while we are out,"
Aofie chuckles. "
Savage mountain tribes are not the sort of company I'd like to keep."

She gives Dunstan a look that implies she would much prefer his company.

Very well! We can ride out as soon as tomorrow morning. But only if you promise to teach me how to hawk - I never really got a grasp at that."
he says in a joyous manner.

They are majestic creatures. You have to earn their trust and respect,"
Aofie smiles. "
And they can tell someone of good character. I am sure, with a little guidance, you could mould a hawk into a loyal companion indeed. They are fascinating to watch,"
she adds, starting to relax a little as she talks.

"
I shall look forward to tomorrow morning,"
she adds, raising her glass towards Dunstan.

Night passed as it always odes, completely boring and comfortable. Dusntan woke up with glee, happy to have a chance to go out hunting with Aofie.

He ran down the stairs early in the morning and immediately ran outside. After saddling up two horses himself he put on his light leather armor he used for hunting and signaled the servants to inform young Lady that he is ready. Particular order were given for two hunting hawks to be brought too.

He waited in the courtyard, ready to ride out.

Aofie joins him shortly threafter, clad in warm, dove grey lambswool and a thick, dark grey cloak. She smiles to see Dunstan.

"
My lord, good morning. Well-prepared, I see!"
she greets him cheerfully.

"
My Lady, you look lovely this morning."
Dusntan says and offers his hand for her to climb the horse intended for her.

"
Yes, of course, I always like to saddle them up myself and prepare everything."
he boasts just a little bit.

She accepts his assistance, swinging deftly up into the saddle, sitting sideways.

"
Goodness! That must be awkward if you are in a hurry,"
she laughs. "
Though it is good to see you are not idle and cossetted, like some lords can be. I see you brought hawks! I was not sure if you were serious about wanting to try it,"
she grins.

"
I was serious. They interest me, such a proud bird - yet it allows a person to control it if he knows how. Fascinating."
Dunstan hops up on his own horse and spurs him.

He brought Rykk and Alyn with them, and was persuaded to ride along safe routes, no doubt by uncle, sister and others in the court.

Dunstan wore a black leather armor and had a hunting bow, arrows, his favorite knife and a short sword with him. In his horse's satchel were the usual equipment, small tent, flint and steel and various camping materials.

"
I shall try to be a good teacher then,"
Aofie smiles, shyly, trotting along beside Dunstan. "
They are very intelligent birds. Their respect must be earned. Once they trust you, they can be very loyal. I find it very peaceful to watch them fly too."

She admires the landscape as they ride, asking Dunstan the names of the mountains, woods, hills, and rivers.

"
The ideal place to fly hawks is somewhere open, with a few trees. Ideally grassy, so there will be mice for them to hunt."

"
I know just the place. It is a bit past Lordsport, right behind that hill there. Iron valley, they call it, but is all made off flowers and grass. Race to there?"
Dunstan asks playfully.

Aofie giggles, and urges her horse forward in the direction Dunstan indicated, the wind whipping her blonde hair and her cloak.

Dunstan did not want to "
let"
anyone win. If this Royce gal was to be his bride, he wanted to move their relationship past the empty gestures and endless courting - he wanted a true companion. So he spurred his horse and rode him just as he would against anyone else. It didn't do him any good though, as his horse just wouldn't listen.

Despite his horse feeling lethargic that day, Aofie's lack of knowledge of the area meant she was not vastly far ahead of him. She slowed to examine the area, turning her head to call to him;

"
Is this the place? It looks right."

"
Aye"
Dunstan says

"
This is it. Right over there is the steep climb into the mountains"
he points to the horizon.

"
That village we passed is called Lordspot. From that hill"
he shows Aofie a hill a bit further away, "
is where the first Tullison had a big battle against the clansmen. He was a Tully bastard, and the King granted him a Lordship ebcause he protected the smallfolk in here. His name was Jonston, folks still call the castle Jonston's Rock."
Dunstan speaks.

"
Pardon my rambling. Let's hunt. What do you do with these birds?"
he takes up the hawks from Erykk and Alyn.
