Re: Game Discussion
So we still got 10 PCs to save 6 NPCs and reach 4 DoS on the stampede. If that happens I fear for the next event, as Reader will up the ante even more next time, if he cannot kill off anyone

Re: Game Discussion
We don't know where the Coldbrook wildcard comes into play, though we know that Arlyn can save one more.
My guess is that Daveth does the healing thing, so that's potentially two saved (or not, since doubling up with endurance saving is allowed there).
That's still at least four people in need of saving through endurance, and 3 DoS on animal handling to prevent additional deaths/maiming.
And 8 PC's to do that, I suspect that not all NPC's will be saved seeing that a few of them will struggle with the TN12.

Re: Game Discussion
Arlyn, first, beating the difficulty by 5-9 is your 2 DoS. 13 beats a TN9 only by 4. Second, I don't believe you can Coordinate your own assist.
Would someone like to be the assist for Arlyn's Coordinate?

Reader has ruled that there can bee no coordination in the chaos of this event.Loreia wrote:Arlyn, first, beating the difficulty by 5-9 is your 2 DoS. 13 beats a TN9 only by 4. Second, I don't believe you can Coordinate your own assist.

Oh. I guess I still need to revisit my action for the aftermath.

Yeah, I rolled the coordinate before we got the ruling. So I switched my coordinate to an assist

Re: Game Discussion
Chaos, chaos, no coordination!
Plus enough good rolls for story thread to be followed, as noted previously.
Coldbrook wildcard comes in at the top.
May add a few more bodies to the pyre.

Re: Game Discussion
I see that Blood of Valyria was used on the Endurance test, which by RAW adds 2 to the passive endurance test. Does that mean, that I could also use my bonus from Anointed to the endurance roll? (something like: People are in danger and the knight's protective instincts kick in to save em?)

Afraid not at it only adds to CD or ID. BoV kicks in due to fiery scene. Anointed might (read: is very likely to) be useful in the follow-up scene, depending on how it's handled. Good chance to use it there. Sorry Kevan.

Re: Game Discussion
Fair enough. :;
):
Just one correction: Anointed adds 5 to every passive result: "
Spend a free action on your turn to increase CD, ID and all passive ability results by +5"
. But I can totally understand if that is too much here

Hmm. Fair point, forgot that (even though I've used it in jousts). Will have a think.

Re: Game Discussion
I am not even sure it is very useful for me to spend the bonus here, even if it was allowed, so it is not very important that you decide now. But overall it would be cool to have a general ruling on in-event use of these qualities that by RAW increase passive results but sometime seem thematically fitting for events.

Generally in favour of letting people use qualities - it makes characters special and you all paid for them! Will add a note to house rules, good idea.

Re: Game Discussion
Funny thing with Anointed being that isn't about being knightly, it's about being knighted by someone significant. Except the part where it's pretty clear GR once had in mind to use Anointed for what Barristan is, then gave it to Jaime (and I believe Gregor Clegane) in the first edition of the campaign guide. Then retconned it being knighted by someone significant without changing the text. Only adding that "
It simply reflects a knight whose anointing was a major event,
sponsored by an important figure"
Prime candidate for a cleanup IMO, but it's in character for the PC's we have with anointed to actually draw strength from his conviction for this sort of thing.
Theomore could have anointed. Theomore would not have entered the burning inn.

Re: Game Discussion
Update, rearranged a little - order by # rolled rather than person saved - bold names are the saved individuals. So far, there is no conflict in choice between tied players, so tie-breakers are not needed. Note that I did not check mechanics, I'm just reporting what is currently posted.Marq Mooton wrote:What it looks like now:

Added Corrine's choice and updated my list by removing Aemond and adding Ser Arryk as third option.

If my Healing wasn't a test die higher than my Animal Handling, I'd have gone for quelling the stampede, but I wanted to succeed at my rolls.
