I... technically no? as a spare I don't really have much say in what House Manderly does!

Samurel is sworn to house Marsten as an aide! As he notes, he doesn't have much influence on Manderly policy, although you guys met two important canon Manderlys in story 1.

Ser Kevan Lyras is from one of House Marsten's banner houses but is a younger son, elevated to status as Marsten's Knight of the Gate on merit. An advantageous marriage to the higher status Sofia Blackwood has furthered his advancement, albeit the circumstances of the marriage are sorrowful.

Yes, my brother is Lord Lyras, but mechanically, I am just a retainer of House Marsten.

Surely he can't have hurt -everyone-. I'm sure I can think of a big list of NPCs he hasn't worked against the interests of, or personally brought unspeakable horror to. Just a minute here...

Pertaining to to the Assembly thread:

Marq's Ironrod speech gives away that we know there was a replica. House Marsten is in the middle of running down the man who gave the order. Putting out that we know about the replica and other like info will be leaked. This may botch our attempts at getting the man at the top

I don't expect everyone to copy and paste their notes, but at least discuss stuff that may interfere with others plans. For instance the Maester showdown did not have to be rushed and done at the assembly, but if you brought up that you had leads and a suspect anyone else working that case could have came to you for further advice or to help.

With the above example I would have liked to presented that House Marsten knows who they culprits are but needs to keep things under wraps until we make our move. This would hopefully have been left more abstract by Marq in his post to Ironrod to reflect this.

Might retcon, Tullisons knows more than Marq lets on, though.

Though that's what could happen when you give the job to a teenager.

Minor retcons on this kind of thing allowed if desired.

Please flag final decision here.

Rofl. Presumably a miss-reading of my commentary as Ben overreaching?

It's actually linked to you making status rolls and performing well in warfare and personal combats, linked to your personal goal. A little nod in the direction of Ben growing in to his role, following on from similar notes in the mountain clan campaign.

Slight tweak to D5's event rules, eased the requirements a little to match my original intent.

Flagging this here as it may affect (and in this effect :;

In general I agree with the sentiment of your post, but this bit was wrong. There had already been accusations made of House Coldbrook withholding evidence, combined with the demand to share evidence meant that we had to move forward with it or face massed protest from various parties, and just going to House Marsten with it could have soured reactions to you folks - both houses have family and political ties to the Blackwoods. Moving forward then was an IC necessity to help restore trust between the houses. Luckily we got confirmation of the Maester's guilt, but not until after we committed to going forward.

heh, I had originally written it as 'overreaching', but decided that was a step too far. It's more an internal critique that you are letting the men treat you as the head of house, thereby unintentionally undermining Corrine. Even that is likely a significant exaggeration of what has been happening, but I felt it was in line with Baelon's current feelings towards the two of you.

A very high quality opening to this thread, enjoyed the IC reaction to the other PCs' queasiness about the apt punishment for Maester Arran both men recommended.

Current plan is for d7 to run two weeks to allow for final negotiations/holiday period disruption, but open to changes. Keen to keep momentum and wrap up this story, but also to allow for holiday period.

Says in the schedule that day 8 is where we are deciding things? Can still do investigations and such on day 7?

Almanac has verdict on d7, departure on d8. Apologies if earlier commentary differed.

So, I have been doing some reading about the Blackwood/Bracken feud. I had been under the impression that the conflict had started about five hundred years ago. Looks like I am wrong. The conflict seems to have started at least five hundred years before the Andal Invasion (and more likely closer to a thousand). Which means they have hated each other for about five thousand years, give or take an eon, rather than five hundred.

That's an awfully long time for two people to hate each other.
