Massive potential long-term complications from this thread if we make it to the civil war:

Re: Game Discussion
A quick question: A noble would like to compete in a tournament, but he likes his trusted steed very much. Is it acceptable to use a secondary steed for a joust?

Re: Game Discussion
Should be. Though he can generally ransom it back anyhow. Might be some will comment on the choice of a poorer steed.

Agree with Theomore, who got there first. Hopefully my most adds some helpful colour.
Minor spoiler for"
The Mystery knight"
.
Absolutely, many knights/Lords have several different horses for different tasks.
It's good form for the victor to ransom back steeds/armour won, but this isn't guaranteed (for example, Ser Glendon Flowers in "
The Mystery Knight"
refuses to ransom back a horse to someone who insulted him).

Two impressive showings from Ser Walton, plus what NPCs think of people using Vicious weapons in sparring matches given the current political climate and Athelstan's butchery of Roddric Longshore.

Hehe yeah, Eoric is going to want to watch himself better. He's shaping up to be at the epicenter of this Green/Black stuff.

Re: Game Discussion
Oh wow Walton, killing one of our black poster childs in a sparring match as a green supporter would have been... quite unfortunate

Rough cough he's got too.
I like Eoric, but you have to kill your darlings.

I saw that too. Combined with the fact that his son gets introduced more... you... you monster!

Well, we do know that canon Eoric dies before the dance of dragons begins.....

Almost bang on: He lives during the dance and dies on march before seeing battle.
That said, we've got several skilled healers so who knows what path events take. We're not wedded to canon.

Re: Game Discussion
Nah, that's his son...Ser Dermot Tully, who happens to look like this (maybe add five years):
http://m.westeros.org/index.php/File:Elmo_Tully.png
I sort of get the impression that our House Tully isn't quite like canon House Tully to begin with.

Re: Game Discussion
Gorman Tully = canon Grover Tully
Eoric Tully = Elmo Tully
Dermot Tully = Kermit Tully
Eoric is Gorman's son to make the ages work better.

Indeed. I'm silly enough to have a Ser Tom of Bradwine appear as a joke cheating knight. Lord knows what I'd have done with muppets.
That said, google for GRRM american football jokes or similar: there are several in the books already, something I learned only after making the above NFL joke. We serendipitously mimic the source!
Also a quick head up on how the Market town rumour will be handled as some asked in a private forum. I know some of you aren't enthusiastic about PvP but hopefully this is a decent way to handle it, as it's part of the world.
Market town:
- Houses will be able to do some rolls for points then "
vote"
for a winner, with votes based on influence and points earned during the event.
- Two highest scorers then face off with lance and sword for control of the town, El Cid style (not to the death). I want a scene like the trial by combat for a town in the film, and by the Seven I'll make it happen. Creates a high stakes PvP scene without it being fatal.

Buried in the very early rumours and not too late to investigate, as some have done so already and the answers are written up.

Yes indeed, I believe it would be interesting to check that out, just have no idea really how to go about it other than a library and hope Frey's have some stake in there.

Re: Game Discussion
just spotted those posts about Ser Walton in scene with Eoric People die, okay? That's what they do, they die.
I also had some concerns about using greatsword, but how it would look like if I use greatsword for fighting with dummy and then use something else for kicking Eoric's ass? I didn't want to insult anyone. But to be honest, my other concern was that the guy was making laugh at me, when he asked Walton to attack dummy

Prickly knightly honour is such a thing as fine stories and grudges are made of! Conflict helps the story and Theomore can't be the only source of conflict (just the best one).

Great. Losing the only Tully who isn't a fuckwit.
Also, what the hell, Reader? Forrest Frey dishing out a diamond ring, and Eoric Tully giving Baelon a VS dagger, but Corrine saves Ser Florian and didn't even get a thank you!
