Re: Tourney guests & Participants
Yes, if we have Rickard Nayland stats?
These were the suggestions I think we agreed on for Rickard Nayland, Miraz Erenford and Perrin Haigh:
Agility 3, Animal Handling 3 (Ride 1), Athletics 3, Awareness 3, Endurance 3, Fighting 4 (Long Blades 1, Spears 1)
With Status 4, they probably come in with AR9 and courser. We could probably discern a pattern in what sort of gear the various sorts of knights have by reverse-engineering from chapter 1.

That seems to be what Arlyn used (except for the AR, where the 10 he used is a bit too much)

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
Someone please check my math.
: 1d4 4
Strike that, forgot to add Theo in;
it works out even.
4 nameless knights (1 each to 1,2,3,5) evens the lanes out at 6 each;
56 remaining Nameless Knights, 46/5 is 11 each with 1 remainder
: 1d5 1
4 nameless hedge (1 each to 2,3,4,5) evens them out at 16 each;
6 remaining Nameless Knights, so 1 each and 1 remainder
: 1d5 3
19-20 matches over 3 days, so 7,6,6 or 7,7,5 (7,7,6 for Lane 3) in either case? Figuring that the last day would wrap up early to allow for a victory celebration.
Lane 1: Escobert Graen [19]
Lane 2: Ereth Redwain [19]
Lane 3: Rickart Nayland [20]
Lane 4: Forrest Frey [19]
Lane 5: Yoren Longshore [19]

Lane 1 challengers: 19
Lane 2 challengers: 19
Lane 3 challengers: 20
Lane 4 challengers: 19
Lane 5 challengers: 19
Total: 95 competitors
Champions: 5
Total participants: 100
Excluding PC participation numbers (Excluding PC's)
60 Average Knights
10 Hedge Knights
10 Knights of Quality
Total 80
6 PC Challengers
2 PC Champions
Total of 8
Real Total: 88
We have 12 extra knights since the tourney total (excluding PC's is 80) or the Famous NPC count as extra (Dunstan counts as NPC here?). This still only solves 6 (5 if Dunstan is counted) knights that need to be removed from the lanes, which can come out of the average knights or quality ones.

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
Dunstan is NPC here, though I think we can have a little leeway, the description says drawing no more than 100 knights. But the next step up the ladder may draw upwards of 500...
Me? I say chalk it up to Ereth being a PC with more or less two goals: Sell Cider and get guests coming to his wedding and tourney. And considering the names he got lined up: Kevan (finished 2nd at Riverrun), Theo (final 8 at Riverrun, plus pageant champion), Baelon (famous, plus melee champion at Riverrun), Jon Roxton (final eight of Riverrun, and he's among the best the Reach has got), Warrick Wheaton (final 4 at Riverrun), Tymon (A Lannister) and Forrest Frey. Pulling that might have drawn a bit larger following of knights wanting to prove themselves? Or Lords wanting to watch such a spectacle and bringing along their sworn swords to join the fun.
We're only missing Lord Mallister (who's not likely to show up in a wedding involving a Longshore) and Derrock Swann of the who's who of Riverlander jousting talent.

Pffft, you're just a knight of quality that got to marry some heir to a house in the vale. And she's the one wearing the pants in that union
You didn't cultivate the image of Ser Benedict Bracken Bane while I wasn't looking, did you?

Also, having seen the lineups, Theo would like to place individual bets of 5GD each on Kevan, Baelon, Ben and Jon Roxton ending up as final champions. He considers it "
unethical"
to put coin on the lane he himself partakes in. Assuming there are takers and he gets at least even odds.

Most of the time Ben spends with her she has no pants on. :;

Not likely on those champions. Will put together gambling mechanics and add lane running order to first post tonight.

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
After John Charlton. There are five lanes. All knights are lined up in one of these. Once you are at the front of the line you wiol dace the winner of the previous joust.Loreia wrote:Ug, I don't understand. How does this work? When will it be my turn?

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
For the record, Theomore (by proxy) is mostly interested in placing a bet on Tymon becoming lane 5 champion in such a fashion that he's hedged himself (Theo will want to win of course, the bet is mostly to cover the cost of ransom if he doesn't). I figure he'd get better odds before Tymon has shown off against Wyll. If Dunstan had defeated the lion, then he could crawl back to hide under Casterly Rock, so Wyll is the real test. There's probably enough idiots who put the fact that Jorah defeated Tymon very recently together with the fact that Theo did much better than Jorah at Riverrun and comes to the conclusion that Theo must be considerably better (It's more like 50-50 in my OOC estimation, and so does Theo suspect having seen Tymon in action), especially if Theo's proxy appears to be a gullible Lannister-fanboy from the Westerlands.
Though I suppose there's enough Forrest Frey fanboys in this neighborhood that a longshot on Corbin Celtigar defeating him would yield odds worth putting a gold on. Warrick Wheaton could also be such a one. Though Theo would want 3 or 4 to 1 before making that bet.

I know. And Theo knows. But does the crowd hanging around the gambling stall?

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
Cunning (logic) TN 12 to gamble.
Success = 1 GD per DoS
Failure = breakeven
Critical failure = -2GD
Anything more intricate will need to be player to player.

So, is it just jousting at this tourney, or will there be other events?

Just jousting. Not a lot of cash for more events, and adding events do not give extra Influence

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
I don't really see why we're enacting the jousts between the NCs and giving them face time in the threads for their tilts. No need for a thread I say, just make the rolls with no stances and throw them at each other. If they're off by a fraction, Reader can feel free to decide stances for them if he wants someone in particular to win, or he wants to create a scene for the people in the stands to react to(such as when the Mountain killed Ser Hugh in the Tourney of the Hand, but not decisively as severe as such). Make way for us PCs! :8-):

Re: Tourney guests & Participants
Well, the idea was to do more or less that, but post it all with a little narrative, too.
I've got some time this morning, so I'll check out the state of the lanes and resolve and NC/NC match-ups I find.
I had been hesitant to do so in Lane 1, as that's where I am, but if someone objects to my limited decisions (really, it's just technique choice) we can deal with it then.
I'll start with the other lanes, though.
EDIT: Especially because I'm pretty sure there are going to be at least 2 more tourneys this off-season... be good to churn through the NC stuff swiftly.

NPC match-ups should be resolved quickly, by handwave if necessary. Focus should be on pcs.
