In the midst of the festivities surrounding Ser Jorah's ascension to the Kingsguard, Corrine catches a moment to speak with the celebrated man himself.

Congratulations, Ser Jorah! A well-earned promotion indeed!"
Corrine greets him, warmly.

Ser Jorah bowed slightly to her.

"
Lady Marsten, it is good to see you. I am glad that you came."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

It is good to see you too. I would not wish to miss a friend's finest hour. Have you read your page of the hallowed White Book? Checked they got everything?"

[Ser Jorah Holt]

Everything looked to be reasonably accurate from a certain point of view,"
he replied, before whispering a more complete answer, "
certain wordings I do not like though and certain whitewashings."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

Ah, you noticed,"
Corrine whispers back. "
Relevant involvement by House Drakeson was conspicuously expunged in Ser Lorent Marbrand's hand. Be careful of him, Jorah,"
she adds, earnestly. "
There was also a strange Dornishman in green observing the ceremony. I thought he might have been part of your extended family, but he vanuahed before I could speak to him. So ething strange is afoot, my friend."

Ah, you noticed,"
Corrine whispers back. "

At least I know whom to keep an eye on."

Jorah paused at that information. "
That is perhaps the more worrying information I could be given."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

Really? Do you know who he is?"
Corrine asks, her voice hushed.

[Ser Jorah Holt]

"
Not the actual person, but whom he serves and at least providing information to. I need to find him and Daveth as well. There are people I must warn."

What is it he represents? And what can I do to help you?"
Corrine asks, sincerely.

[Ser Jorah Holt]

A threat from the past that if I don't do something could mean the death of people most dear, but I need to find this person to discover if he poses a danger."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

Let me help you, Ser Jorah,"
Corrine asks, softly, but with a hint of urgency. "
Two heads are better than one."

[Ser Jorah Holt]

Ser Jorah looked at Corrine and smiled

Baelon makes his way through the crowd to the white clad knight at the front of the room, clearing a path for the rather pregnant Gwyn to follow.

Ser Jorah!"
He gestures to the knight's white armor and cloak.
"
It looks good on you. Congratulations!"

[Gwyneth Drakeson]

Gwyn is beaming warmly as she steps forward to stand beside Baelon.

"
It's moments like these that fill me with pride and hope for the Seven Kingdoms,"
she says. "
However we may stumble from time to time, there are men like you to guide us. To see that recognized here today...well, lets just say I look forward to telling my little ones about the day I saw the hero Ser Jorah named to the Kingsguard. It will by then be understood to be a moment when history was made."

[Ser Jorah Holt]

Ser Jorah blushed slightly, always slightly embarrassed by any attention.

“Thank you. Hopefully my time as a Kingsguard will be a quiet one,” he said, almost ruefully, as if he did not expect that to be the case.

“Perchance, did either of you happen to spot a Dornishman earlier looking at the White Book?” Jorah looked concerned.

[Gwyneth Drakeson]

Gwyn glanced at Baelon, then looked back intently at Jorah.

"
We've been informed of the matter,"
she said more quietly than before. "
In fact, we'd thought to warn you. It seems potentially a bit...sinister."

[Baelon Drakeson]

Baelon nods.
"
Given your family's history, we though they might be likely targets. We would like to offer our assistance preventing that - or anything else untoward that may be intended."


He gives another white-clad figure in the room a side-long glance.

"
On an unrelated note, I would not ask you to act as an informant on one of your sworn brothers, or in anyway ask you to do anything improper but..."

He sighs.
"
Ser Lorent Marbrand has taken an unreasonable dislike to me - likely thinking that targeting me will advance his position with the Princess, who cares me less than the Prince her husband does."

He shakes his head.
"
Perhaps if you become aware of anything, you could simply seek to prevent your sworn brother from doing anything unbecoming for one of his station? That would be proper, would it not?"

[Ser Jorah Holt]

"
That is what I am worried about as well. If it is whom I believe they are, my parents are in great danger. I need to find them to ensure they pose no threat!"

Is there anything you can tell us about who's behind this?"
Gwyn asks gently, trying to calm Ser Jorah down a bit. "
We have a basic description, but anything you can remember could be of use in finding him."

[Ser Jorah Holt]

"
As I understand, he was wearing green. They serve House Gargelan and they have been at this for about thirty years if it is the same ones."

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

"
I had noticed the hand of Marbrand myself, and warned Ser Jorah,"
interjects Corrine, a little put out at not even being greeted. "
And the Dornishman in green. I think, if we could get a look at the seneschal's list of recent arrivals at court, we might find an appropriate name to follow."

[Gwyneth Drakeson]

Gwyn looks at Corrine and realizes what she'd forgotten in her haste to get to Ser Jorah. "
Corrine! Ugh you must think I'm some kind of barbarian. I'm sorry...I was so intent on warning..."
She sighs and gives her cousin a rueful smile. "
All these years I've wanted to visit King's Landing with you, and now it happens and I promptly mess it up."
