Arlyn, did you ask either of them if you could jump in?
Sorry Corrine, I'm sure Reader will clear it up with you tomorrow. I'm very new to this myself.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
I have had some ongoing PM's with Jorah, but he has yet to respond if he wanted to meet me there or on day nine, Slots are getting kinda tight so I *was* jumping the gun a bit, but its not unreasonable for Arlyn to be there considering some House Threads that I have open, I was more leaving that there so that they could A) ignore me and I would leave or B) Jorah could ask me some questions if needed there and save us some time slots

how am I supposed to write it? I feel like it would require the house fortunes rolls first, and knowing when the clan war will fall in the timeline, and how much xp I'll have to work with. It'll also depend on what other people are doing. I feel awfy lost. Would some kind soul help me sort this out? I am willing to share my off-season wishlist if it would help.
Fear not guys, exemplar coming soon. If you're struggling, focus on the in-character activiites you'd like or mention some mechanics and I'll translate it in to numbers.

Whoops, I thought I had been clear that I was happy for you to join in afterwards or during that conversation.

I think you are going to have to go a little farther north then you expected too. Giants and mammoths were fading into myth I think by the time of this story, so they must have lived so far north that even the rangers may not have seen them.

We're going to the mountainranges, besides a little extra spice never ruined a story:) plus it was more of a metaphor, for what you may find.

If this is true, then I might have made a mistake on my post. Can we get referenced information on this?Septon Arlyn wrote:I think you are going to have to go a little farther north then you expected too. I mean the existence of mammoths, not giants. There are dragons still flying around, so I thought it was perhaps not too much of a stretch.

If there were mammoths and giants in the time of the books, there would be mammoths and giants now... remember, the rangers don't really go as far north as Yoren is planning to go, so what is legendary to them could be a routine sight as far north as Thenn.
Dragons >Septon Arlyn wrote:Lol great, now the Longshore's are going to have war mammoth's. Well the riverlands are going to hell
Mammoths.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
There is mammoths and giants beyond the wall. There is not much mention of where, although from what we know from the story they are in the same mountainrange we'll climb.
Mammoths would be cool with Dragons. Dragons takes them in their claws and drop them over a city wall. They will now have to deal with 10 tonnes of angry tusks.

I'm just inferring that mammoths are like cattle to giants. So where the giants go, mammoths are.

I was more thinking that the dragons would strafe the war-mammoths with fire. All that wool...

What I meant to dispute here is not the existence of mammoths, of course, but the fact that a maester would know of their verifiable existence. Which I believe we do, but I could be wrong.

You probably do, they are not that far north. Remember the reach of the Citadel.

You're right though - let's all gather around the woolfire and help ourselves to some delicious mammoth barbecue, then sing campsongs. A good time will be had by all. Except the Mammoth.

Sightings of mammoths/giants by credible sources may be hundreds of years old by now, though.

Theo and Gwyn will invent sunglasses, so we can dress in black and tell people that it's just swamp gas.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
What does mammoth taste like? Wouldn't it be quite stringy? the fat is gathered in the outer layer to avoid the cold, so the meat itself will be quite healthy.
