Re: Game Discussion
Maester Leopold could be handy, as he'd likely be on hand for Baelon's fight.

We can't be good at everything
I become acutely aware of that every time I roll Cunning or Warfare.

Did I chose my opponent wisely and correctly for a first opponent in Haig's little distraction? I thought a Status 3 knight like Frank Mooton would be no more of a challenge than posed by a Knight of Quality, and I hope I have everything as it should be now that I put my little thread together for my own joust.

Re: Game Discussion
I had a weird thought, and wanted to put it out there to see what y'all thought.
Would it be entertaining/productive to have an OOC player chat session sometime? Not to do anything 'business' related. Just to talk and have fun and so on. There's several ways it could be done. And note, I don't mean voice chat, but something like IRC or similar. A text based chat.

I'd like that too. Are there free chat room services?

Re: Game Discussion
Yeah. IRC is an option. There are free/shareware clients out there. I've got one for another game that we actually play on IRC.
There's also a bunch of free online tabletops that have chats. OpenRPG, MapTools, and the like. One of them is actually entirely web-based which is nice. No client download.

Walton, I'm pretty sure there is no 'village elder', what with everyone in the village having died of poisoning.

It's hard to kill off everyone in a village, I've just asumed that it was like the black plague, not everyone died, just a substantial amout of people.Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:http://dragonsdance.forumatic.com/viewtopic.php?f=187&

I'm pretty sure it was all of them, otherwise there'd have been people left alive we could question...I remember from our investigations that we had to go fairly far afield before we found someone who could give us any information about what had happened in Blackbuckle.
But I may have misunderstood as well, I spose. Reader?

His post is for PennyTree not Blackbuckle to clarify.

Everyone in Blackbuckle died.
This isn't a problem if Ser Walton is in Pennytree instead, albeit that sorry place's recent history is only marginally happier.
Chat room - let me know if you lot settle on something and I'll create a stickied post about it.

Oh my bad. Pennytree
lol, sorry. That's what happens when I read a post as I'm about to skedaddle from work.

Thanks for the clarification, Luecian. I thought he was talking about Blackbuckle.
That having been said, 'village elder' is a rather primitive term to use. They probably have a mayor.

Corrine is so confused. I'm finding it hilarious. She went in all ready to give him a massive bollocking, and he's just killed all that rage by agreeing with her and not trying to spin her a yarn.

No one's accusing Theo of not being good at manipulation.

What Gwyn said. If the risk of a lie being discovered is high, don't lie. Or rather, don't lie about what you did, lie about how you feel about it and hope for a light sentence for "
having learned your lesson"
.
One of the most prevalent pieces of advice given to prisoners up for parole is to act remorseful.

Re: Game Discussion
Good manipulation is knowing when to act, when when to use the truth to one's advantage.
I think Theo does feel remorse on some level, and he's harnessing that and expressing it so that Corrine's suspicions will be deflected from the reality that Theo did what he did for a very specific purpose, that has nothing to do with what he's saying it was.
That's my guess anyway. Based on various informations. And guessing.
