Re: Game Discussion
Lannisters are reasonably well regarded, depending on your politics. One is master of ships and therefore sits on the small council. Lots of canon characters for those searching for hints.
They've not committed any Red Wedding style atrocities, so typical Lannister prejudices/stereotypes apply to the view most of you would have of them, plus any feelings towards Tymon and the Greens.

Re: Game Discussion
Okay, joust is over and without surprises too, as Alfie failed to make it through the third round. As long as all is correct so far, I'm assuming the following to be correct as well:
Ransoms: 2 Average knights and 1d2 hedge knights
: 1d2 2
Hedge Knight: AR 5 (Mail) x2 + 2 x Courser = 1700 SS
Average knight: AR 7 (Splint) x2 + 2x Courser = 2100 SS
All together: 3800 SS - 1250 SS (my own stuff) - 200 SS (last tourney)
Makes a net win of 2350 SS (?)

Re: Game Discussion
AK's and HK only have rounseys, so it's 50 instead of 600 for the horses.
Also, Mail is 500, so it's 2x550 and 2x1050, so 3200 before you have to ransom your stuff back. Not entirely sure what gear you're using, Brigandine with Armor Mastery+rounsey seems to fit 1250?

Oh don't count out polar bears just yet. If my Lady wishes a polar bear... well I might know a guy. Yoren!

Treaty itself is stored in the first post here: viewtopic.php?f=165&
t=1565 (scroll past event opening spiel).
There are OOC and if threads on voting, can try to dig hem out when I get home if someone else hasn't.

I love jousts and mechanical stuff (as people who remember my PCs can testify), but PCs chatting is great fun for me. I like to see what happens in terms of politics and character development when my hands aren't on the tiller. Has created some fine, quiet scenes.

Re: Game Discussion
Hello all...I did a dumb.
I'm saying this because I maaaaaaay need to do some edits to some of Gwyn's IC posts, because I got completely confused, forgot who 'Jon Cobb' actually was, and what his significance was...and that caused me to go all the way down a rabbit hole and drag my poor character...who is far smarter than I am, which I'm just starting to really appreciate the difficulty of playing...along with me.
So I'm trying to decide how to fix it now.
Just wanted to let everyone know that it's not Gwyn who's doing the dumb, it's me.

My recollections are that he was a player during story 1. He was an old knight, haunted by past battles, who took a shine to Dyana, Gwyneth's sister, while simultaneously attracting the affections of Corrine's mother, Isobel. He was killed in the grand melée of the Riverrun tourney by Dyana herself, who was competing as a mystery knight.

Re: Game Discussion
That sums up his relevance in the current context. It's worth noting in case it's not obvious that Dyana, Gwyn, and Corrine are cousins that grew up together... so his romantic interests were all in the same family.Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:Darron Greyjoy wrote:As another person who doesnt know who Jon Cobb is care to enlighten?

While we're at it, Dyana was also being courted by Daveth Coldbrook. Gwyn and Baelon married and now have banner house sworn to House Coldbrook. Daveth is now marrying another woman, who happens to also be a warrior woman.
Yeah, there was some real melodrama back then.

Re: Game Discussion
Oh, so did I. I didn't mean that remark to be disparaging.
For those of us in House Marsten at least, I think we were living in the sort of Westeros that Sansa dreamed of before she left Winterfell: all splendid knights and beautiful maidens, love triangles intersecting with other love triangles, romance and true love (and more than a few secret premarital rendezvous). Now we're faced with the sorts of secrets and conspiracies that Ned was dealing with in King's Landing. Darker, grittier, with lives - not to mention the future of the Seven Kingdoms - on the line. Our characters completed their transition in to adulthood, and we have more adult worries and concerns.
Character development is great stuff.
