Quarterfinal Lane 2: Ser Florian Greysteel vs Ser Erryk Cargyll

Ser Florian Greysteel was the personal champion of Lord Manfryd Mooton, and Ser Erryk Cargyll was a member of the Kingsguard. Much speculation was had as to who the eventual winner would be. The bookmakers favored Ser Florian - while Ser Erryk was a noted and doughty warrior, he spent his days guarding the king and his family. Ser Florian on the other hand, was able to spend his days practicing and honing his jousting skills.

The first pass between these two well respected knights was indicative of how it would turn out. Ser Florian scored a solid hit, while Ser Erryk was only able to break his lance to little effect. However, Ser Erryk Cargyll of he Kingsguard was not a man of little ability; and the two men broke lances against each other 8 more times before the end.

Even then, Ser Erryk was not unhorsed - after the 9th pass, he conceded to his opponent, stating that to continue on would not likely change the inevitable outcome, and that continuing could render him unable to adequately guard the Princesses that he had accompanied.
