SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Ser Florian positions himself for his semifinal match up.
He's just a bastard and a squire, but he rides like a Dothraki howler.
Ser Florian Greysteel: Charge 10d6k4+2, 9 damage per DoS;

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Aerion trots into place, trusty Argella high-stepping fancily, opposite the Greysteel. He knows the man bears him no love -- he had heard as much from a glowering Ser Harbert, ever since the violence at Riverrun -- and has decided to return the favor, inasmuch as a squire might dislike a knight.
Here, Storm slaps his visor closed, hiding his features behind steel before raising his lance in a salute, Here, at least, I can think of him whatever I will.
And when he charges, it's perhaps with just a hair more vigor than usual.

Base Damage: 11 per DoS
Health 9/9

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Ser Florian is not happy with his charge. His lance strikes Aerion's shield and shatters, but with only minimal force. Meanwhile, his opponet hits him with force enough to be felt, but Ser Florian easily shakes it off.
SF P1 Charge Aerion Balanced: 10d6k4+2 20 vs TN 24 miss, but not critical.
Aerion: 24 vs 20, 1 DoS, 1 damage after AR, TN 9 Ride
SF P1 Stay in Saddle: 6d6k4 20 vs TN 9, passed.
not going to bother to roll the CYB, as he is guaranteed the 1 DoS needed to recover to full health.

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Aerion wheels his brown rounsey about, holding out a gauntleted hand for a fresh lance. When Ser Florian, too, seems settled and ready for the next charge, he spurs Argella on and couches.

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Ser Florian adopts a riskier approach - he desperately wants to get a solid hit on his foe, and being conservative won't do it. He succeeds, hitting Aerion solidly on the shield with significant force.

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Aerion's shoulder rolls back, shield absorbing the blow, rolling with the strike instead of being blasted from the saddle by it. It would have tumbled many a lesser knight -- and, being honest, he's sure there'll be a bruise left -- but his lower half stays as steady and still as Storm's End.
Inside his helmet, for the first time tilting against Ser Florian, he smiles despite the pain. He hadn't tilted against someone angry at him since Bold Jon Roxton, back when Jon was nearly a knight and Aerion barely a squire. It had been a while since he'd taken such a hit. It hurt, but in a good way. It was against men such as this he might prove himself. It was by challenging himself against men who hated him that he might get his spurs.
He wheels his rounsey and charges again.

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Ser Florian's charge was... inelegant, perhaps, but effective. Somewhat. Neither jouster was having tremendous success, but the damage the flying lance splinters were doing to the bastard squire's clothing was a sure sign of other, more bodily damage. Ser Florian would have preferred a solid hit and clean unhorsing... but this slow grinding down provided it's own grim satisfaction, too.
P2 Charge HitS 2: 10d6k4+4 25 vs PR 24, 1 DoS 9-5AR = 4 Damage and a TN 9 Ride test (passed)

Cannot fail to get 1 DoS on a TN 0 CYB.

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Aerion's shield is dented, the shoulder joint of his breastplate showing a dimple, now, too, but he wheels Argella again with a toss of his head, reaching out for another lance. He's giving back as good as he's getting, but he's not wrapped in layers of steel, head to toe, the way the wealthy knight is. The answer, then, is to start hitting harder, himself.

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Despite the squire's agressive tactics, Ser Forian is once again stymied by his opponent's tremendous skill.
You're not alone with your Orokos luck. I think someone dialed the RNG down or something.
P4 Charge vs Aerion HitS 2: 10d6k4+4 21 vs PR 23, NOPE.
Aerion hits Ser Florian 22 vs PR 20, 1 DoS for 1 Damage and TN 9 ride
P4 Saddle HitS 2: 6d6k4-2 17 passed
Aerion recovers 2 health and is at 10/12
Ser Florian recovers 1 health and is at 12/12
I suggest we pause while the resolution for the other semi-final is figured out - unless Ser Florian can get several 1 DoS hits in a row or the 7% chance of 2 DoS (only possible when you are Aggressive) this is going to go the same way.... and realistically, if you got hit twice in a row you would probably go defensive until you recovered, right?

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
[I've got a new plan I'm gonna shift to, so I'm just gonna sling the dice for the next three passes -- that gets us to an 'even' seven, a nice holy number and halfway to our potential limit on the joust -- and see what happens.]
Jousting, Drakeson Tourney v. Greysteel, then BoA reroll attached: 3#10d6k4+5 25 24 26 1d6 6
[Need two more BoA rerolls (it didn't #3 that part, oops]: BoA rerolls: 1d6 1 1d6 2
[so passes 5, 6, 7, are total to-hit rolls of 27, 24, and 26]
Stay in Saddles: 3#6d6k5-2 27 20 21
Catch Your Breath: 3#3d6 8 11 5
[High in the Saddle, not Aggressive, so PR stays a solid 24 throughout these three passes]

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Aerion's shift in tactics makes for a stunning change - no longer a near stalemate with a slow wearing down of the squire, but rather a brutal assault on the knight. One pass, and the Riverlander began to bleed. A second, not quite as fierce, but the third sent Ser Florian tumbling down and landing hard upon the ground. The crowd waits with baited breath to see if the respected knight will rise...
I hadn't set maneuvers yet, but Ser Florian probably would have stuck to what he was doing... well, not after that pass 5 hit of yours maybe. Ah well. I think this is going to end it, or at least put it on that path. Of course the rolls get better when there's more math to be done at once, right? Time to crunch...
Passes 5,6,7, HitS 2: 3#10d6k4+4 24 25 24
Pass 5,6,7 Saddle, HitS 2: 3#6d6k4-2 14 19 13

Pass 5:
Ser Florian hits 24 vs 24, 1 DoS for 4 damage (6/12) and a TN 9 ride (27... good enough I guess).
Aerion hits 27 vs 20, 2 DoS for 22-10 = 12 damage, Ser Florian takes an injury to reduce to 8 (4/12) and a TN 12 ride (13, passes)
Ser Florian recovers 14 vs 0, 3 DoS (7/12, 1 injury)
Aerion recovers 8 vs 0, 2 DoS (8/12)
Pass 6:
Ser Florian hits 24 vs 24, 1 DoS for 4 damage (4/12) and a TN 9 ride (20, passes).
Aerion hits 24 vs 20, 1 DoS for 1 (6/12, 1 injury) and a TN 9 ride (18, passes)
Ser Florian recovers 15 vs 0, 4 DoS (10/12, 1 injury)
Aerion recovers 11 vs 0, 3 DoS (7/12)
Pass 7:
Ser Florian misses 23 vs 24, 0 DoS for 0 damage (7/12)
Aerion hits 26 vs 20, 2 DoS for 22-10 = 12 damage, Ser Florian takes an injury to reduce to 8 (2/12, 2 injuries) and a TN 12 ride (11, fails)
Ser Florian takes an additional 11.
I will leave it to Reader to determine whether Ser Florian take a a wound or leaves his fate in Aerion's hands...

Re: SF Lane 1/2: Aerion Storm vs Ser Florian Greysteel
Argella wheels, Aerion already twisting in the saddle to cast a look behind him at the downed knight. He tosses away the remnants of his tourney lance, waving off the two-penny 'squire' he'd hired from among the eager-looking village lads. He wouldn't need another lance for Greysteel, that much was plain to half the kingdom.
Would he take offense at me approaching? Or would he take offense at me not? For a long moment, he pauses at the end of the lane, Argella tossing her head.
Hells with it. I'll err on the side of civility.
A little nudge, a little click of his heels, and he's got his humble brown rounsey trotting towards midfield. Aerion's visor lifts -- thanks to his right arm, his breastplate's left shoulder is battered and stiff -- and he looks down to check on the proud Riverlander.
