Wrecker Jon goads his chetsnut rounsey forward at a leisurely pace to takes his position at the lists, giving himself time to observe his opponent. His shield bears his personal coat of arms - crossed white hammers over a white bridge on a red field, but the brand new surcoat that covers his long brigandine jack displays the arms of House Bartheld - a black boar on a red field. His hounskull bascinet also features a recent addition - a pair of large boar tusks now extend from the muzzle-like visor. Jon raises his lance to salute the crowds, and nods his head briefly towards the Tullys and the assembled royalty before settling in to face Ser Arryn.

Jon remembers that Ser Arryn is a very average knight, forever in the shadows of his more talented brother Ser Manfryd Vance, who serves as Riverrun's master of arms. The Tully's recruit for both loyalty and talent, and Ser Arryn only fulfils half of their requirements.

[Day 4: Round 1] Joust - Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Arryn Vance Empty Re: [Day 4: Round 1] Joust - Ser Jon Cobb v Ser Arryn Vance

Jon spurs his steed forward with a shout, bringing his shield up to cover as much of his impressive frame as possible. Ser Arryn, on the other hand, chooses to stand tall in the saddle. It is a poor choice, as things turn out - Jon's lance has little trouble finding its mark, smashing into Ser Arryn's shield with tremendous force and throwing him from his mount. Meanwhile, Ser Arryn's lance shatters cleanly against Jon's shield, rocking him in his saddle, but he finds the reserves of skill needed to stay in the saddle.

When Jon wheels his steed around to see the results of the pass, he sees Ser Arryn's unconscious form lying still on the ground. Attendants rush forward to bear the man away as a cheer erupts from the crowd: "
Wrecker! Wrecker! WRECKER!"
Behind his fearsome visor, Jon allows himself a small smile and a sigh of relief...

Maneuver: Defensive +2
Passive Ride: 13+2 = 15
Health: 11
AR: 8
: 9d6k4-2 21
Result: Lance strikes Ser Arryn for 16 damage (8 x 3 DoS = 24 - 8 = 16);
Animal Handling 15 to remain mounted.
Since Arryn cannot pass such a test, he is unhorsed and takes 8 Damage which isn't reduced by armor, in addition to the 16 Damage from the strike. Total damage 24 - Ser Arryn is defeated. Consequences are the standard ransom and : 2d6 7 hours.
: 4d6k3 10
Result: Jon stays in the saddle

Edit: Rewritten after noting that PCs are responsible for describing consequences for NCs in this round.
