[D4 Joust Round 1]Ser Baelon Waters vs. Ser Kyle Crakehall
Baelon rides Velox, his steel-and-white courser, into position, kitted out the same as during the trial - well used splint and a simple black tabard with sanguine bend sinister.
Around Baelon's shield arm there are two entwined scarves, one red and one black.
Velox is caparisoned parti-color with Marsten and Targaryan sigils, showing Baelon's loyalties.
Taking a lance from Edmund, who is once again serving as acting-squire, Baelon positions himself for his first tilt against Ser Kyle Crakehall.
At the signal he sends Velox into a head-long charge, rising in the saddle to get the maximal leverage on his foe.
Maneuver: High in the Saddle 2
Passive Ride: 16
AR 7
Health: 9/9
Fatigue/Injuries/Wounds: 0/0/0
OOC: Edmund, feel free to add some IC flair to this thread, some dialogue or commentary would really liven it up.
EDIT: Added a very important (IC) descriptive detail that I forgot to put in initially.
EDIT2: Forgot to label the thread appropriately.

Ser Kyle is a survivor, having fought in many battles. Truth be told however, he has no great deeds to his name and the boar on his shield is the most fierce thing about him.
Passive Ride: 9
AR 8
Health: 9/9

Result: 7 damage, TN 9 to stay in saddle, lance breaks.

Re: Ser Baelon Waters vs. Ser Kyle Crakehall
Baelon takes the westerland Knight's blow solidly but not terribly gracefully, managing to stay in the saddle but not by much.
His opponent however, is not so lucky - Ser Kyle takes an expertly place hit and is launched from his saddle with naught so much as a fare-thee-well, unconscious before he even strikes dirt.
Ser Kyle hits the ground and rolls to a stop, but suffers no serious injuries.
: 9d6k4+2 23 1 shy of 4 DoS, but still more than enough
3 DoS x 9 damage per DoS = 27 - 8 AR = 19 damage and a TN 15 ride check that he cannot succeed at, so another 9 damage when he hits the ground.
However there shall be no more penalty than the standard ransom and : 2d6 8 hours of unconsciousness.
: 4d6 12 -2 for HitS is 10 (barely a success is still a success...)

Re: Ser Baelon Waters vs. Ser Kyle Crakehall
"
Dragon's son! Dragon's son!"
- the cry goes up again, a louder encore of the shout's from the morning's trial by combat. It is still only a scattered noise, but it comes from a few more throats this time.
Prince Daemon applauds no more and no less than anyone else, inscrutable. If he thinks anything of this, none of you can discern his mind at this distance.
Princess Rhaenyra does not clap, making no effort to hide her displeasure.

Corrine applauds Baelon's display, though not as heartily as for Ben Blackthorne or the Knight of Stones.
