As noted in previous post, Thursday much clearer for posting as I'm all alone in the flat. Well, flat faced cat will be here too.

Re: AFK thread
That is a fair summary of guzzler - flat of face and alarmingly expensive.
Hadn't seen that before.
Good night all, solid work through of backlog. Owe Theo and Daveth a post or two but yet to fall massively behind...

Re: AFK thread
A bit slow yesterday and today due to unfortunate circumstances - someone close to my brother based away. The departed was young and had been ill for some time. Trying to support my brother.
Aiming to be around tonight for posting, wife is hosting friends.

Re: AFK thread
Thanks. It's a slightly strange situation as I didn't know the departed at all, but had heard about him for years and it has had a big impact on my brother and his girlfriend. Might be across in Glasgow occasionally in coming days/hosting my brother here.

Sleeps beckons. Got through lots of IC stuff today and some rolls for intrigues, so roleplay element tomorrow.
Managed Daveth's OOC stuff today, hopefully Theo's stuff tomorrow plus finishing the Velaryon combat and NPC reactions to Mushroom-fest (delayed due to Friday's sad news).

Trying (and mostly failing) to focus on exam tomorrow (last of this batch). Then it's game night after exam.
Sleep all day on Thursday because I finally can, then I'll see about getting ahead of all the stuff that is piling up.

Re: AFK thread
So, a few months ago, my mom was hospitalized suddenly. She had a heart attack, among other things. She lives alone, and among various other discussions (after I dropped everything and flew to Oregon), we agreed that she shouldn't live alone any more so she's moving in with my wife and I (in a bigger place). It is terrible. All terrible, all the way down. Moving sucks, home-buying and home-selling sucks, but coordinating that move with another person, in another state, with highly specialized medical needs (and their own home-selling)? Totally sucks.
After the dates had been moved by various companies on behalf of various parties at various times, we finally have a date. But on top of us moving, and on top of a moving company handling mom's stuff, I've got to go back to Oregon to get mom's car and her dog.
So, next week, I'll be spending the 22nd flying, then starting on the drive. Then I'll spend the 23, 24, and 25 on the least awesome road trip ever, driving cross-country in an old lady's car with her fat little beagle for company. Merry Christmas to me.
I will do what I can to stay on and active for the next week, before things really hit the fan, and I'll do what I can to at least check in once a day (on my phone) if the non-stop driving doesn't just wear my ass out. But the only promise I can make is I won't be on as much as I've gotten used to, these last couple of weeks.
My apologies in advance for any disruptions this causes.

No place like home for the holidays, huh? Better be some pumpkin pie waiting for you! Sorry about your mom.

Re: AFK thread
No worries, RL comes first, and that's some important stuff you need to do. I doubt we will be as active as usual that week anyway, so don't fear slowing anyone down.
Most importantly - drive safe, take your time, give yourself plenty of breaks to stop and stretch your legs.

Sorry to hear about all that, I hope everything works out great and it turns into a fun holiday story next year instead.

Re: AFK thread
Was home late tonight, late night at the office. Will try to do more tomorrow and move mushroom fest on as I'm probably out on Friday (work Christmas do).
Best wishes Aerion - at least you're doing The Right Thing. We can chuck dice for you if necessary, and things will naturally slow over the holiday period anyway on previous form.

And thanks for the well wishes, etc, everybody. It's been a crummy couple of months, but it's good to know we just need a crummy couple of weeks for it to all be over.

Largely MIA until Saturday - previously flagged family stuff and work Christmas do. Mushroom fest will have to wait until then, sorry!

We've still got a ton of player-driven off-season stuff to wrap up, so I'm not too worried about the delay.
