Re: Game Discussion
Of course. I think you should seek to have one of us PC Fighters follow you while you're about on your random walks through bandit territory, for whatever reason you created that encounter(I'm sure it's private). That, or spend some gold on one or two able sellswords to guard you. I think it's safe to say you met your match out there, and now you have more injuries penalizing your rolls that you could've done without. You would have been fine against just the footpads, but the third-rate bandit nearly killed you.

Re: Game Discussion
I created it because I was
A) bored
B) working on getting the fighting talented quality
C) underestimated how much the house rules would change damage. +1 damage per DOS is a pretty big deal lol

Re: Game Discussion
With better (and realistic) tactics even the footpads might have had you on their own - they should have always had you grabbed - only one needed to hold you while the others did their two-weapon attacks. for that matter, they can two weapon attack and establish a grab, so the next one can release &
two weapon in sequence... kind of nasty, even if they are only doing low damage per DoS, as it also prevents you from fighting back effectively.

Pfft, quiet weird apostate type. Interesting question on Westeros and religion - targaryens use faith for legitimacy but stand apart from it, have tensions with it and flout andals customs (most obviously on marriage)
Linked to tempers frayed - aiming to "
pull back the curtain"
and show what was prevented.
Also, retread rogue prince, dangerous women and world of ice and fire relevant sections so a few tweaks to come (and even renaming lord Mallister - he's not named, but a lord Mallister beat Ser Cristina cold in a tourney and I'd like it to be our lord Mallister - he's got tourney knight after all).

Seems like most dynastic governments - you have some faithful (like Baelor), some opposed to it (like Maegor) and a whole bunch in between. Most probably believe, but act pragmatically rather than faithfully.Reader wrote:Interesting question on Westeros and religion - targaryens use faith for legitimacy but stand apart from it, have tensions with it and flout andals customs (most obviously on marriage)

Technically Yoren you are covered either way as they are both plural and void of a descriptions linking to any particular faith. :;

Re: Game Discussion
For those wondering about the rewritten D6 event (and bravo to everyone for preventing it, will be reflected in end of story rewards):
Full scale peasant revolt that needed to be put down.
- Base TN was much tougher at 15
- Mandatory rolls on post battle casualty charts with DoS shifting which column you rolled on (so units could be destroyed/lose training levels).
- Houses that didn't bring troops took hits to influence (for failing in their royal duty) and wealth (baggage trains looted etc) - you were warned of the risks via the pre story Warfare rolls.
- Glory awards only for the two highest rolls.
- A couple of NPC deaths - hadn't 100% decided yet, but Lady Alysanne Blackwood, Ser Colyn Manderly, Lady Kerry Bracken and Ser Wyll Bracken were on my shortlist. Intention was kill one per House, PCs who won glory could save two (could be from the same House, with the house that the investigators failed to protect taking it VERY badly).
Almost sad it didn't happen. At least you lot have prevented the Darkest Timeline.
Hopefully Aemond and his new friend Yoren can steer us back to that unhappy hunting ground.

Re: Game Discussion
I just recently picked up the Campaign guide (GoT edition one) there is a interesting difference in the PC stats, they put all the Great Houses with Status 7, Eddard Stark now has Fighting 5 Long Blades 3, Athletics 4 strength 2B (that's 10dmg per DoS with Ice) He is a beast lol and half-plate.
Some character remained the same (Walder Frey), but they updated the warrior type character to hit harder (as far as I have noticed, will read it more when I get the chance. There is also some (not much) new artwork.
The mountain is just omfg... He can probably kill a PC every 2 rounds lol

That's because he is buffed (330 xp and 3 DP above character gen) and broken (he has both Massive and Blood of Heroes, which gives him two Heritage advantages).

Yes I did notice that, they could have just left him at Athletics 7 and still be brutal, but then again most character like that I suppose have had some "
development"
as most npc have more XP and DP invested on them to reflect that they have been around for a bit I suppose or just make them truly scary for PC's and something PC's will reckon as a threat.

Given the discussion, a reminder that our power level guidelines are set here:

Hopefully helpful for benchmarking against NPCs.
As a bonus, here are some NPC stats diretly from my spreadsheet: a gruesome pair for those who know their "
Dragon's Dance"
history and a major NPC (near/at the top of the power curve) with his name redacted.
Specialities/qualities left off to preserve some mystery.
Apologies for formatting.

Re: Game Discussion
You already have stats for Blood and Cheese?
I have only one question: How many NPCs do have stats on your master spreadsheet?

It's in the queue of stuff to read, though I find GRRM emotionally draining, so it'll be a while.
