Corrine's eyes turned to the Septon with suspicion. He sounded... off. There were hesitations in his speech, and his eyes seemed distracted. Was he deceiving her? If so, to what end? He was part of House Dulver, known historically for their love of gold and known for self-interest. But this clashed with her prior knowledge of him as a decent and pious man of the Faith.

Septon, I detect that you are not being honest with me. If we are to work together on this matter, I require transparency from you,"
she said, gently, though her eyes remained wary.

Tell me the truth."

Septon Arlyn looks nervously to the others gathered. "
My Lady, What I have to discuss is personal in nature, would you mind retiring to the Sept to discuss this further?"
Lady Corrine can tell that his gauze lingers on Ben for a second longer then the others. "
It is nothing vital to this mission I can assure you."
There was still the hesitation in his voice, along with an undercurrent of fear that Lady Corrine's sharp ears could catch up on. Hopefully she does not think I am crazy, because frankly I would consider myself crazy if not for the fact I experience it.

Corrine frown a little, though her head tilts with curiosity. What was this all about?

She gestured for the Septon to follow her, and she led him to the sept.

Corrine stood and bustled on ahead, leading them back to where Ben, Luecian, and Tymon waited.

Septon Arlyn follows Lady Corrine through Hartshorn, admiring the tapestries as much as he could as they hustled back to the main chamber. After arriving back in the hall Septon Arlyn looks to the assembled Lord, Knight and Archer. "Are we ready to try and find this place?" asks Septon Arlyn

"I believe we are. Ben, what have you gleaned from the maps?"

[Benedict Marsten]

"It looks quite obvious, but I will admit my knowledge of maps comes from sea charts. Ser Kevan or Ser Markus may be of more use." Ben's lips curls in a child like and adventurous smile. A real treasure hunt may lay ahead.

[Lady Corrine Marsten]

Recognising her husband's childlike grin, Corrine cannot help but return it. A chance of adventure excited her greatly.

"Aye ready to go Septon. Truth be told meself be welcoming the chance to explore a bit and see what troubles a group such as ourselves could possibly be finding." He added a third childish grin to the mix as he surveyed the rest of the party.

Septon Arlyn and the group of nobles left the Marsten hall at daybreak, after having rested that night. Luecian of course had spent some time about in the woods, familiarizing himself with the terrain as well as finding likely paths to travel

[Luecian LongBow]

Luecian had been up a bit before the rest exploring the area and making a quick hunt for some birds. They were tasty enough in a stew or roasted on a skewer but their true worth came in their feathers. It took near a handful of feathers to fletch a single arrow and whether trying his own hand at it or bringing em to a fletcher, the smalls savings added up.

On this day he had little luck in the short time he'd been out but at least he was now a bit more familiar with the area they planned to travel through shortly.

Luecian had spent most his life traversing the hills and mountains that made up the Dulver lands and these, while far to the east, were not so different he found. They slowly made their way through a vast web of undergrowth at first, using small trails made by those beasts who called these lands home. Their pace was slow at first leading their horses and pack animals through these undomesticated lands. A few hours into their trip they spotted a true path as the mountain forests thinned, a trail that had surely not been made by beast alone. Carefully they followed the path as it seemed to continue onward, their destination and its direction seemly united. Scattered hoof prints and a couple boot prints littered the path as they travelled on, it became clear to the huntsman and his companions that they were not the only ones to recently traverse this trail.

As they approach closer the track seems to get rutted, as if hand carts have been used to transport many loads. The sound of a rushing river bubbles through the thick green woods. The trees are narrow in this valley, with the clouds sticking to the evergreen branches, creating the sensation of walking through a Sept supported by hundreds of narrow green mossy wooden columns. every once in a while they would pass a snag that causes them to duck under as the smell lather from their horses waft up towards them with a musty scent. They continue to climb upwards, the path so narrow in places they must travel single file, the narrow track thankfully no washed out to the river below them to their right. Eventually the trees begin to thin, and the pathway levels out and becomes wider. Soon the sent of wildflowers fills the groups nostrils, along with wood-smoke, the clouds appear to be slightly darkened from the smoke in the direction they are traveling. They hear the sound of rushing water ahead of them, as well as to the right.

"My Lord, My Lady," the Septon speaks in a hushed tone. "Do you know of any homesteads out this way?"

"There is Nichye. He's a forester for us. He used to drink in the Hartsbridge taverns a lot, after his son died in the last war with the clans. He had been making strange remarks about the Seven recently and spending less time drinking and more time out in the forest. He might be the source of the smoke. We could go check."

"Hopefully we will come to a warm fire then" says the Septon, "Lord Ben, would you like to lead us from here?"

"Of course Septon." Ben pulls out in front and leads the party onward to the source of the smoke.
