I fully intend to wade into the Greens &
Blacks thread, but I'd like to have a better sense of the fight and its source before posting.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
I believe that the information about the fight is intentionally scarce. After all, sudden riots are not known to be well organised. Also I think the mandatory part is because of its sudden start, and the endurance is simply getting out unscathed, that was my understanding at least...

Fair enough. I hadn't thought of it like that. It's just because there is a roll to remember the cause of the fight, sland I want to be able to rp that properly if I pass.

I don't have any insider info, I'm just guessing, and it seems like a good explanation for me, maybe doing the rolls first and then clarify with reader?

You people , don't forget to eventually react to a hero's bloody death on the field... such sudden, much drama.

Ser Derrock is a model of chivalry and will let you pick with a persuade (charm/convince) roll at tn 9 (his social defence). Full event tomorrow if you pass.
Made it! :-) Not sure yet how we will handle this IC...

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
Difficult choice IC - Sofia Blackwood, who favour gave you the strength to win your semi-final?
Gwyn/Corrine for the House Marsten glory boost?
Either of the two women you considered courting previously?
A bolder, higher status (political) choice?
"
- Maryssa Lucas has red hair and is 21. She was engaged to be married but her betrothed died of an infected wound, explaining her slightly advanced aged to be unmarried. The Lucas family supports the greens. She's known as unusually politically engaged and capable woman (she had a tutor from the Citadel) - she'd run a household well.
- Katriona Fossoway is famed for her long blonde hair and is 18. She has a reputation as a fine rider and horse breeder. Like many Tyrell vassals her family supports the greens. "

Hah! Not changing course now, so obviously Sofia it is, even with the political consequences and loss of potential glory for the house. :;

Will have to think on the speech though, so will probably post it tomorrow evening...

Hooray for souring of relations in the name of love.
Bravo to Ser Kevan for passing up house glory to follow his path.

, same as river ghost. Which I find questionable, especially since the endurance(resilience) roll suggests that every character around gets caught up in a big fight. And some players might not even notice the mandatory part.
At least with greens&
blacks, I think characters should have an option to avoid the fight altogether (but then also miss out on the peace/war increasing options), there's a few of them that makes good sense for, like the ladies. As far as the river ghost goes, the only consequence of that would be penalties on the next event, so slinkering off when things gets heated wouldn't be affected by that.
A fair concern.
- People only get a minor injury that heals quickly
- Other characters can heroically defend them to prevent injuries = drama
- Sometimes trouble finds you!
Do people feel these events are too harsh/don't suit them in character? I can try to adjust things, but I hoped the points above took care of things.

I am fine with it. The fighting roll is optional and an injury can be dealt either with a defense or the next morning fairly easily by a moderate healer.
The 'trouble finds you' aspect is realistic and is the reason Nathan has a fighting and endurance higher than 2.

I don't feel it's too harsh. There are multiple ways to translate results into rp, so there is some room for each person to interpret rolls into IC results that fit.
I am actually rather hoping that trouble will find Corrine while she tries to calm the rioters. For DRAMA!

I thought the event rules are good. They bring home the idea that just because you're not a character who actively puts themselves in harm's way (like our warrior types), that doesn't mean we're always safey-safey. This is why we have house guards! Even if Gwyn seems to consistently and conveniently forget that.
Also, Dyana, I just want to mention that I appreciate how appreciative you are of the appreciation you get.

I agree entirely. It is all in the interpretation, tailoring to the character.
APPRECIATIONCEPTION!
