I have hurt my lower back from spending several hours preparing and cooking food, so I'm collapsing into bed to read comics until I fall asleep.

Oops. I seem to have stayed up all night, playing Darkest Dungeon and Grim Fandango Remastered.
I am also conscious of having been a grumpy shit. Sorry, folks.

Equally pleased on my part to have a GM who's really dedicated to it, sticking it out through the rough parts and taking genuine pleasure in the craft of the story, from both his own efforts and from the efforts of the players.
It's added up to one of the most memorable games in 20-odd years of gaming!
Thanks to everyone!
Thanks Gwyn, this is kind. Having been a player in several of these I'm well aware that the players put in a great deal to make it work too. My time's availability waxes &
wanes with stock markets &
wedding preparation, but I'll try not to just drop off the face of the Earth: the players are owed that. Even in an absolute worst case scenario (that I see no reason to come to pass) there are materials that could be passed on to someone else. You guys really make the game, I just provide a framework. Delighted we've managed two stories, individual offseason events, offseason one house events and a mini-story against the clans! Many of the PCs are developing the rich histories that the canon characters possess.
Corrine - I've been there with Darkest Dungeon too, including the late nights.

Hopefully there will be many more stories. This game has helped me psychologically in a huge way.
And yeah, Darkest Dungeon is so addictive, despite being incredibly grim and punishing.

My bugaboo has been Fallout 4.
But I think I'm close to the end of the storyline now. Then I'll just need to build my mega-bunker on Spectator Island, and I can be sated.
...
Probably.

I think they need to let Obsidian back in. As much as I can appreciate a good story, Bethesda chucked out a ton of roleplay and basically filled it in with shooter, and railroaded players.

It's a different game than the first two for sure, but I'm still having tons of fun.

Fallout 3 is still solidly my favourite. I haven't gotten very far in 4 though, aside from completely surrounding Sanctuary with junk fence and turrets.
I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online a lot. I've been doing as much solo stuff as possible (there's a lot), though the co-op stuff is ok. I'm glad PvP is in one pre-defined area that is easy to avoid.

Sorry I have been posting lately will get replies out later tonight and hopefully comment on this fallout discussion. My last great project was building a concrete wall around sanctuary.

Hee hee
I started out fortifying Sanctuary, and it remains my most populous and productive settlement...however, my Great Work will be done on Spectator Island.
An entire island of buildable surface. It shall be the yolk of the egg that will hatch with MY GREATNESS.

I think I just hate crafting systems. I think I would prefer the scavenger perks be free, and that I could just pick a thing and then the game says "
oh, you want this?"
And keep track of what I need and tell me when I have what I need.
Meanwhile, I have bought Morrowind for the first time and modded it up... bye!

lol...Skyrim was like that for me for awhile when I started modding it. But dang, that game eats computer guts like CANDY when it has mods. That cured me of that addiction pretty darn fast.

Morrwind is really good . I put the big graphics overhaul mod on it, and that made it so much more playable.

I would like to add that since buying witcher 3, it has eaten my life up more then fallout or skyrim ever did... so many questions marks... I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
I've been having a hard time getting into that! Something about the combat gameplay is really hard for me to 'get,' and I'm really bummed out by the fact I can't create my own character...which is for me a lot of what brings me into an RPG.
I've barely gotten to level 2, and I've owned the game for months now. I just never play it. It makes me a little sad, because everyone just raves over it and I want to experience all that goodness. But it just doesn't draw me in.

that's fair! it isn't for everybody but that's okay, I've played the other witcher games so it brings a lot of the story full circle, and the novels aren't bad either

I should get round to the Witcher games. I started the first one ages ago, but the misogyny was just too much.

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
It's pretty unflinching in its depiction of a dark time in humanity, yar. To be fair to the games, the stories do often portray good female characters (at least in Witcher 2 and 3...never saw 1), but the society and setting are pretty hostile to women, and powerful women in particular.
