Thumbs up to Blondie, particularly Call Me! One of their best (and it's a stiff competition).
Good news for the SIFRP game, both licensed products and the Chronicle rules system that provides the framework: more releases are planned for both in 2017: https://greenronin.com/blog/2017/01/09/nymessage2017/.
Hooray!

I wouldn't mind taking part in a Dragon Age campaign taking place during one of the blights predating the 5th, with the players being the heretofore unnamed heroes in the setting!

What did Dragon Hoard take, 4 years from announcement? I'm not hopeful for 2017.

True, must have been around that! Let's hope the next licensed product is faster, and if not they've at least got greater control of timing on the Chronicle line of system products.

I GMed a Dragon Age campaign not long after the system came out, but it got put on hold. Information from the books and Inquisition meshed poorly with the ideas I'd been working with, so I'm not sure it will be revisited.

Why I had to step away from the game...
Hello Everyone,
As promised, I can finally reveal why I had to step away (at least temporarily and at worst permanently) from narrating this game, which has been one of my favourite RPG experiences.
I'm part of the new playtest team on a card game, Doomtown Reloaded, which was going to end in summer last year but is being supported by the original license holder (Pinnacle Entertainment Group, taking over a game that was licensed to AEG) and a new company (Pinebox Entertainment). We'll be supporting the old game with new product (exciting new expansions!) as well as managing errata, rulings and official tournaments! We'll be holding a Kickstarter in the near future.
http://pineboxentertainment.com/ - a few blog entries and rules resources so far, lots more to come
Sorry I couldn't tell people about this before. It is hard work and consumes a lot of my time. Long standing players may remember me missing the odd weekend (usually my most prolific posting time) to compete in (and win! sometimes!) several Doomtown tournaments. I didn't have any official role in the game during the AEG era, but wanted to support the effort to keep one of my favourite games going.
At least you lot should have a target for your ire now.

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
Interesting. I didn't know it got picked back up. I have the core, and it is a good game, although a fairly steep learning curve. I don't really have much good to say about AEG in general, they seem to be stumbling over their own feet lately. I'm looking forward to the LCG model of L5R and new L5R RPG products from FFG.

Very cool. I've done some playtesting for things, but nothing to that extent.
Congrats!

BURN THE CARDS!
That sounds awesome. Reminds me of Bang! a fun card game for 4-7, the goal is to be the last player still standing. This seems like the more lengthy and nuanced of the two, with every player having a deck whereas in Bang! everyone draws from the same deck. Good luck, hope it's a fun game when you're done!

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
Thanks guys (and to Ser Loreia for taking the joke onwards!). As noted before, I didn't seek this out but felt I should give it my best shot having being asked.
Grab Triston is familiar with it already - agree on the learning curve so I'm going to work on some strategy articles and maybe even a video. I like very deep games, but that makes them a niche interest.
AEG created two of my favourite games in Doomtown and L5R, but you're right that they seem to be changing who they are and getting out of the type of games I love. I'm looking forward to the L5R LCG too!
Should add that our sinister spymaster Nathaniel's abilities extend to real life, as he more or less predicted this in private messaging, leading me to ask if I'd tipped my hand somehow!
Gwyn's player has accurately called how much this means to me - I'm very attached to this game.
Thanks to ValarD too, for both the congratulations and trying to keep this ship going.
Edit: appreciate the enthusiasm Ayleth! Nice to see a post just as I'm making mine.

As glad as I am that winter is ending, allergy season is not a fun time.
By the way, don't forget to post in the Roll Call thread and Support the Arts event!
House Bartheld (and the greens generally) could use a little love...

Loads of stuff happened since you posted your topic, but both Bartheld and Dulver could use more faces, even more so now.

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
While I appreciate the uptick in RP participation, there has been a corresponding diminishing of event participation - nearly two weeks since the last post. I think it has become clear that there is no longer sufficient interest to keep this game alive. I would have liked to have at least made it to the end of Story 3, but that is clearly not going to happen.
Thank you all for giving me a chance, and for sticking around even when things got grim. However, I can no longer in good conscience keep a cheery face and try to rally participation. I am now convinced that there is no brighter day coming in the near future, and it is a disservice to the rest of you to pretend that there is.
Reader, I hope that someday in the future you can restart the game, though I suspect a proper reboot would be needed - there is simply too much baggage in this current game to bring a cast of new players in and expect them to feel that it is "their" game. Either way, if it is ever in the cards (or if you ever want to run another game, whatever the system or setting) please do not hesitate to get in touch.
