I say those things aren't mutually exclusive.Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:You say fickle, I say confused and easily led.
Ah, but Baelon has never (intentionally) led them on emotionally. If they fall in love with him... that was never his intent.Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:I'm sure you would object to me calling IC Baelon fickle because he has been intimate with several women (more than Corrine has done), but that's my perception.
Yup yup, completely agree with this. Still fickle.Gwyneth Marsten wrote:Corrine doesn't know who she wants, and perhaps hasn't quite caught on about how the giving of favors is meant to work.
That doesn't make her a bad person. Just a confused teenager.
She's learning lessons now that people really need to learn 2 or 3 years beforehand.
Poor girl, over-sheltered. Tsk tsk Lady Isobel, see what you've done?

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
Fickle implies doing it intentionally or without care for the consequences, which is not Corrine at all. Simple as that.
And it's not like she intended to develop feelings for Athelstan, and she didn't intend for him to fall for her either, so I don't think you are fair in saying she's leading anyone on emotionally. She's being honest to everyone involved. So I don't think your distinction with Baelon is valid.

So you're saying that she's a natural talent that does it without planning ahead?

You may be right, I may be overstating things. It began as a joke, but seems to have outlived what little humor value it had.Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:Fickle implies doing it intentionally or without care for the consequences, which is not Corrine at all. Simple as that.

Exactly. It's like the Curse Of Venus flaw in Ars Magica. Love happens to her in inconvenient ways.

Corrie ought to take a page from Theo's book, drop the thing about falling in love, leave that to them.

Well, that happens too and inconveniences her, hehe. She's far too idealistic to be closed with people.

Speaking of rumors...
And full of terrors... I've played Inquisition, but in this setting, that could easily be taken as sympathetic to the Lord of Light. Reader may just snap his fingers and hand-wave it though...sighGwyneth Marsten wrote:The night is long,

Loreia - well pointed out, and as that ties in to one of the existing Day 5 Gwyn rumours... Pasting rumours in to my spreadsheet now, so should catch more. PM and post in here with rumour fodder you gossiping fishwives!
Also, much love for Dunstan (my emphasis above).

Sit down please, I was just telling the lads how I almost unhorsed the legendary Ser Garibald the Grey! Oh it was quite a match!"
, some might even find the young Lord's enthusiasm annoying.
"
How did you go?"
Also, much love for Dunstan (my emphasis above).

Thanks
Question of ransom, I don't have a bunch of money on me in my personal equipment but, being a Lord, there has to be some coffers I could dip into - right?

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
In fairness, that song Gwyn sang was (in my purely invented canon) a traditional song dating back to the Long Night...it's lyrics aren't related to R'hallor worship.
That said, people are people, and gossip is gossip. Hee hee!

In my theory crafting canon Long Night is definitely related to R'hllor and Azor Ahai... but that's that, theory crafting

On its own, that's a true defence of the song.
But when did the truth ever help anyone?
Sadly/amusingly, it links in to a rumour that goes live on Day 5, so it has a lower bar to clear than normal.

If, with the literate, I am
Impelled to try an epigram,
I never seek to take the credit;
We all assume that Oscar said it."
- Dorothy Parker
- Someone should start playing their character as Dorothy Parker. They'd be showered with bonus XP and outrageous bias from the Narrator.

Rumour? That undersells it. This is how plot seeds develop my man! You've defeated a future member of the Queensguard.
Someone bookmark this so we can link back to it when Ser Jorah gets his white cloak. I'll remind everyone that the kingsguard is also a good way of getting rid of rival suitors/heirs, should a vacancy ever appear.

Dorothy is a legend.
Sadly, I don't think my current character is quite worldly enough to pull of that sort of wit. Maybe when/if she gets old enough.
