[OOC: quite so and as Corrine says the public ceremony may well bring similar (non cumulative) hits anyway. Good luck keeping a lid on this.]

she chuckles. "
It might have to be you, since you're a man, and the highest ranking of the lot of us. Of course, this has to be our secret. My mother's agreement earlier seemed a bit too convenient, so I have brought us all here for this tonight in case she has plans to sabotage the 'official' ceremony."

Corrine laughed a little at the image Dunstan's words conjured.

Just act as though this has not occurred, and that Ben and I are still merely betrothed."

At Gwyn's interjection, Corrine, turned and greeted her with a joyful smile and a short embrace.

she grinned.

She makes a face of realization. Then she shakes her head. "
That damn Pudgy. I would have been her right away, if he had woke me straight away to give me the message, instead of me waking to him staring at me. I don't know what his problem is."

Then her expression turns to shock as it all sets in. "
Wedding...oh... my."
She spins about the room at all the faces gathered. Her legs become weak. This is it. An answer to my prayers. She reaches for a nearby pew.

Perhaps if Lord Dunstan were to release her from service..."
He left the rest open for Corrine.

Corrine's look at Ellie was gentle and caring, and she spoke softly to her, releasing one of her hands to offer her a linen handkerchief from her pocket;

Ellie. My dear, sweet Ellie. I don't want you to be separated from Ben either. I'm sure we can work something out with Lord Dunstan. If he wills it, I'd gladly have you come live with us when the time comes to return to Hartshorn. If that is what you'd want, of course."

Go speak with Dunstan about it. I'm sorry I didn't think of it before,"
she told him, stroking Ellie's hair.

Everything will be alright, little one. I swear it. I'm not going to take Ben away from you. I'm certain that Lord Dunstan will release you from his service. He's a good, kind man, and he cares about Ben a great deal. Breathe deep, try to relax a bit. All will be well. We will sort this out."

Ben nods, his affection for Corrine swelling to new proportions.The heart of a mother and passion of fire.

Ben approaches Dunstan and leads him aside. "
My Lord, it feels I have asked much of you since swearing my sword. But I promise to return each favor two fold."
His face makes a grimace as it pains him to ask more of his already too kind cousin. "
Would it be ok if Ellie were to go with us to Hartshorn?"

Ellie does as Corrine instructs and her breathing returns to normal. She wipes her eyes with the proffered handkerchief. Then pulling it away to examine it she chortles a choked laugh. "
I really have to stop crying in front of you. If I borrow many more handkerchiefs I will be able to sow you a blanket for a wedding gift."

Her smile turns serious. "
Thank you, my lady, for making Ben happy and making me happy."
