"
That will show the bastard!"
Yells Septon Arlyn as he watches the false knight take blow after staggering blow from the young heirs sword. A cheer erupts from the dulver lines as people begin to sense that the battle is drawing to a close

Frey's attacks were slower and slower, Ser Walton bounced one of them with his shield and with pirouette passed next to Frey. For one moment their faces were close to each other, but in next moment Walton was throwing overhanded swing into Frey's back. He hit with end of his sword, but it was enough to cut the brigandine and frightening yelp cut the air...

Even his strudy brigandine jack cannot protect Ser Benjen for long. Ser Walton's attack rips through his armer, cutting deeply to expose flesh and flood.

There are no last words for the ferocious Frey, no lingering death.

He staggers a foot or two before falling to the ground face first, his pillaging and murder finally at an end. A talented knight, but one who did not live up to a knight's vows, and hid his short-comings more poorly than most of his ilk.

[OOC: vicious weapon, Ser Benjen Frey is dead.]

House Dulver Event - Reap what you Sow - Page 2 Empty Re: House Dulver Event - Reap what you Sow

Post by Ser Walton Dulver Tue Oct 20, 2015 8:33 am

Ser Walton was standing for a while above the body with lowered sword. After putting it on his back, he took of the helmet. His hair was sticking to his forehead and face was disappointed. Spitted on the ground and turned to his soldiers -Stony Heath!- he shouted and all of them started repeating rhytmically. Wild shouts 'Dulvers' and 'Stony Heath' lasted for longer while. Ser Garred slowly limbed to laying body and kneeled. He pulled out dagger from behind his belt and grabbed Frey's head by hair, pulled up and sticked up dagger into foundation of skull with quick hit.

When he stood up, he risen his hands to silence the army. Then turned to enemies and started talking loudly enough, so everybody could hear. -Benjen Frey is dead. Old Jack is dead. For this moment only they are considered as bandits and rebels and it's up to YOU, will rebel end with their death, or will there be more blood on this ground. Your blood...- made effective pause to let them think about his words, studying their faces.

: 6d6k5 20

And after short while, when already got his words, he added -House Dulver is giving You generous gift. Disperse or join us and swear loyalty. It's Your last chance, after this, there will be no mercy. What isyour answer?-

(OOC- Remember, I believe these men have been riding with Ser Benjen and burning our countryside/lands. You may definetly decide to be lenient but I would classify them already as outlaw/bandits by their actions)

Luecian cheered as the false knight fell and stayed down for good. As Ser Garred spoke his words, he yelled "
Mercy is not for the likes of them Ser! Think of the damage they have caused and small folk they have either harmed or killed recently! Death or the Wall to this scum!"

[OOC: : 3d6 14]

The raider seemed intimidated by Ser Walton's fiery words, if the Seven were with House Dulver, these men would not take much to break.

Meanwhile the Dulver troops yelled in affirmation at Leucian's fiery speech, keen to exact retribution on those who had killed their relatives and looted their properties, all for a septon's words...

"
Death! Death! Death!"
yelled the Dulver troops, waiting for their commander's orders.

These murderous scum deserve the only fate fit for a vagrants! To the Wall! The Seven stand with House Dulver this day, Flee, throw down your weapons surrender and the Mothers Mercy may find you still!"
Bellows Septon Arlyn, seeking to convince the criminals to go to the wall rather then face death.

Incredible scenes, as Ser Benjen's force, cowed by Ser Walton's feat of arms and fierce threats, begin to break.

The cavalry turn tail and run, numbering among them the longest serving of Ser Benjen's force and unsure of the mercy on offer.

The remainder of the raiders throw themselves on Septon Dulver's mercy, casting down their weapons in mute disbelief. It is an eerie silence that hangs over the battlefield in this moment, the clatter of axe, sword and spear on ground ringing out with none of the feared raiding party finding the spirit to raise their voices.

After securing the area and enemies, Ser Walton turned to prisoners -who surrendered, will get no harm from us.- he shouted. During that Garred was already gathering the hired cavalry. He called archer, Luecian to him and ordered -take Frey's horse. We need to track the runners and hunt them down- then just turned and walked away.

(OOC-Not sure we really need to track as we are watching them ride away but I can if needed. I think we are going to pursue with 1 Elite Calvary Unit, a squad of 10 men plus Ser Garred, Ser Walton and Luecian? The remaining Infantry unit and archers will stay to keep an eye on the surrendered units. So roughly 33 men vs 20. Also if we are transition this to warfare I would take 3 more shots and then attach to the pursuing unit.)

Luecian watches the calvary trying to flee the scene. He hears Garred's words but first pulls his bow out and sets to take a shot at a portion of the fleeing horsemen.

: 4d6 8 (poor roll but they likely won initiative with their decision to flee anyway)
: 8d6k4 21
*Added 1b for aim, -1D on attack assuming the calvary was sprinting. Not sure on any stats for the calvary to calculate DoS but my base damage is 6 with 2 Piercing.

Once he can no longer attack he mounts to catch up with the calvary in pursuit.

A miracle shot by House Dulver's tracker sends one hedge knight tumbling from his horse, despite the distance and his target's rapid flight.

By luck or judgment, the shot takes the raider in the throat, ridding through his padded coif and choking his lifeblood.

[OOC:

Luecian's shot = 3 DoS = 18 Damage - 5AR = dead hedge knight

I'll be ploughing on with the main story, but can understand if you want to run a quick skirmish to test your PCs and help trigger personal goals. Feel free to roll without me.

Your men take care of most of the enemies, leaving you to face.

- 1 NPC with knight stats (can take injuries)
- 1 NPC with hedge knight stats [Would have been 2, but one slain by Luecian's shot.
- 2 NPCs with guard stats

- You start a few squares away due a coming over the crest of a hill (everyone is a lesser move away from everyone else)
- The NPCs all attempt to engage one PC each. They fight Ser Walton with knockdown then lesser attacks, but use GRAB on leucian first. The knight goes for Ser Walton.

The bulk of the fleeing horsemen were dispatched by the combined efforts of the Riverroad Riders and Ser Garred's cadre of handpicked men but a few fled hoping to get away. As they ride in pursuit of these fleeing bandits, Luecian, Ser Walton and Ser Garred are surprised to ride almost right on top of the bandits upon the crest of a hill. For their part the bandits appears equally as surprised.

Luecian and his honed reflexes is the first to react, pulling the spear he was carrying across his lap and deftly sending it airborne directly at a mounted hedge knight within range. It strikes the hedge knight in the shoulder piercing through his mail a fair amount. He appears hurt and rather angry now but still very much keen to fight.

Ser Garred moves in front of Hedge Knight, so he is adjacent to one of Guards also.

Ser Garred quickly approached the hedge knight, misleading him with quick feint. He reached knigh with following feint attack, but didn't manage to put enough power to hurt the opponent. At least he put himself in position between enemies and mounted archer...

Shouldnt knight get 2 more dmg grom Walton? For mpunted attack with mount not moving during his turn. That wouldput him to 3 injuries or wound instead

(OOC don't feel bad about no one attacking you. The guards would not reasonably move past Ser Garred to attack you because that would provoke an AOO and the knights would want to get the heavy lances in use against the behemoth of a man, they are not too concerned about some peasant scum :;
): , although you did move some people around from my map... I think you shifted one of the guards over a space)

(Missed the +2 dmg part you added to the main hit, updated to reflect knight 1 is dead reaching his max 3 injuries. Septon- I tried to swap 2 &
4 on the map as 2 is the hedge knight, while 4 was a guard)
