Yes, but it's not so simple as spending a DP for an extra DoS, the only way to guarantee that is to burn one for +5 to the roll.

You can use DP to gain +1b or convert a bonus die into a test die for boosting rolls, though that alone may not give enough boost. If you do that, and roll a six on the extra bonus die on the status roll, then you get enough points, with a 4 or 5, you could spend another to convert a bonus die into a test die to pull it off.

However, you can also outright spend a DP to improve someone's disposition towards you (like the princess), which I'd consider a better option in this case. And you get to cozy up to someone of status 7 or less in addition.

Well now that Jons character has left us I think that will lead to some interesting RP opportunities as each of us react to his death in the melee. I will be interested to read what some characters reactions are, especially those that had grown close to him. I know that the septon will be shocked and appalled, but lets get some good RP out of this opportunity

We've already had a trial in which Athelstan's character was judged guilty of murdering his half-brother in a sparring match. I'm sure the lord of Riverrun will be ecstatic at another chance to gain more money from the coming trial, unless the defendant can get a really good lawyer.

Yes, but the knight of the stones is a mystery knight... so we do not know who he is, investigative work must done to figure out who he even is, unless the guards rush him and tear off his helm, IDK how that would work exactly, it will be fun to find out how the reader handles that

People dies in the melee every now and then, so I don't think we'll see that sort of repercussions.

But we ought to have a good story on our hands now. (And Raff's going to shadow the knight of stones from the scene, btw).

This could create some interesting storylines, but what actually happens in the battle has yet to be determined.

First we need Reader's ruling on how that will play out. Nothing says that death from defeat must be immediate - Jon could be carried off the field bleeding but alive, then die from his wounds in the privacy of the Maester's tent. Or for that matter, the death could be indirectly related to the blow - the shock of it triggers a heart attack or something like that.

Second, Dyana has the option of canceling Jon's burn.

Well from his sign-out post in the afk thread, I don't believe he'll be interested in any further roleplay. Dying in a tent is likely to be the furthest it will get from Dyana in terms of related consequences.
