I say Haelis was caught sniffing Yve's panties, hence the need for a change in the maester department:)

Rumour mill indeed says some people believe this is the reason for the change. Could be A result of green/black politics too! Who knows? :;

Luck, mostly. If we did it again I might not make it out of the first group, nevermind win unscathed.Loreia Merrgal wrote:"

You're right. Also, she doesn't have any reason to think you use'd decidedly impassive tactics in the melee, which you didn't. We'll not make anything out of the comment.

I didn't win any events.
Maybe I'll count Ser Derrock's victory in the joust as I did the rolling , or prince Aemond winning the (offstage) squire melee.
Or just have Prince Daemon enter the next melee...

Well I figured Derrock still won, but allowed Kevan to choose the queen. Wouldn't Derrock still get the champion title and get to ransom Kevan's stuff?

Derrock is very much champion and received the appropriate glory and ransoms. The jousting thread should have a post on this, on phone so hard to check.

Well, in the final I didn't. The only round I didn't attack, it was because my target was out of reach, so I still advanced towards him.Loreia Merrgal wrote:You're right. Also, she doesn't have any reason to think you use'd decidedly impassive tactics in the melee, which you didn't.
Really, the only time I was passive I was doing the exact thing that Ser Loreth did in his group - let the established pairs finish their "
honorable duels"
- or letting someone else choose their "
dueling"
partner.
What it comes down to is that if people don't like you they will find fault no matter what you do - If I had gone in swinging I would have been 'ganging up' on someone, if I didn't I was being 'cowardly'. Haters gonna hate, you know?
Really, I take Oscar Wilde's attitude for Baelon: “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.”
Baelon took the comment to be one of wonderment and awe at his amazing talents;Loreia Merrgal wrote:We'll not make anything out of the comment.
if Gwyn weren't occupying his attention he would probably offer up a few pointers that Loreia likely doesn't actually need.

Yes, Derrock received my silver to ransom back my equipment. This was handled offscreen but was discussed via pm between me and Derrock.Derrock is very much champion and received the appropriate glory and ransoms. The jousting thread should have a post on this, on phone so hard to check.

Right, I'm not calling him a coward. It is kind of a damned if you do/don't situation. Who in their right mind organizes odd numbered groups of contenders to fight each other anyway!? Come on, noble people, your gods' favorite number being holy doesn't make it practical!Baelon wrote:Well, in the final I didn't. You wouldn't want to do that anyway. :mrgreen:Baelon wrote:Baelon took the comment to be one of wonderment and awe at his amazing talents;

Rofl. We can't all be Gwyn Marsten.
Still, everyone has achieved something, which is encouraging. Looking forward to lots of posting his weekend and then one more week of work before a holiday week to showcase awesome offseason fun.

I find that events are like clothing, either you are a little baggy to fit everyone and looks decent on everyone or you look perfect, but only on the right person.
I have three in almost all my stats, so I share the pain of not winning

All rounder is important when you're the only consistently present, non reckless house member. :;

Being a generalist is valuable in many ways, but I couldn't even win at the stuff I'm supposed to be awesome at.
I'll get over it. I think it's just bothering me just now because of the prizes thing.

Despite having to share it you won The River Ghost. Technically not a event more of an incident. But you are a winner! :;

True. True.
I'm ok, I'm not actually upset. Having a crappy day, so had a touch of the gloom. But I'm making cake now, so all will be well. I still love everything here.
