Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
Oh, yeah, there are plenty of simple solutions. It's just a matter of which of them gets selected and, as a result whom shall have their plans mucked with.
I don't know as there is feasible solution that would also make everyone happy...
The complicated part is more getting everyone IC up to speed on what happened... that's half the reason I spelled it out here - if everyone understands OOC it is one less barrier to it being understood IC. :;

I shall update my post to include giving Baelon the letter, with the understanding that he'll show it to Edmund too. Sorry, that was an oversight on my part.
Don't bake and type on your phobe at the same time, folks!
On the upside, I now have banana bread and lemon cheesecake.

Haha, aw sorry. I'd say you can come have some, but you're far away and I'm just getting into bed anyway.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
And in fairness to Septon Arlyn he tried negotiating for payment on the loan then Yoren slipped in no payment of interest and support of troops instead. Needless to say Septon Arlyn will be very upset at the bait and switch.Baelon wrote:Nathaniel Mason wrote:In fairness, the only agreement I am aware of between Yoren and House Bartheld <

It's more complicated than that... the deal that Corrine was referring to was not directly between Yoren and House Bartheld.
- Yoren promised troops to Corrine.
[/*32ioj9ic]- Wrecker Jon and Fendrel promised troops in return for my personal support, and talking to other members of House Marsten about supporting Fendrel - which I did, albeit 'off screen'. Jon made it clear that they would likely be mercenary troops. I assumed that House Bartheld would hiring mercenaries through the usual house action method, representing Jon getting his mercenary company from the Blackwood/Bracken spat.
[/*32ioj9ic]- Wrecker Jon then negotiated with Septon Arlyn for 'Dulver Turnips', which is a nickname for House Dulver's military forces, due to some interesting events in a previous conflict.
[/*32ioj9ic]- Septon Arlyn then negotiates with Yoren for troops to serve with House Bartheld in the place of actual Dulver troops.[/*32ioj9ic]
Now, IC we only knew about the first two until the Septon's letter, which brought the others to light.... which is why all of this is happening now and not earlier in the tourney.
So, Yoren is getting paid twice to supply troops to the Marsten clan war, and we are apparently getting two units where we were expecting four. Also Septon Arlyn pulled a bait-and-switch on Wrecker Jon, but that doesn't really matter to us, per se... though it might matter to the House Bartheld leadership.

'Telling off' is right! I had to reread to be sure that it wasn't happening within earshot of Ben or other people. How is the brother two years his senior going to handle that?

I found it very entertaining.
I suppose the age difference is absorbed by Garrett being a bit immature.

After looking through the bestiary, I've realized that these references of me as brutish or overly tough have some merit to them. I have the same rank of Endurance as a giant! I mean wow. That puts things into perspective.

There was a guardswoman a guardswoman a guardswoman
All brutish and tough and covered in hair
Doesn't scan, does it?
Loreia, if there's one thing sexist Westeros hates more than female warriors, it's succesful female warriors. You go from joke to threat.

We should put a giant in a fullplate, poke it with sticks to make it angry, aim it towards a castle and see what breaks first: the castle or the fullplate!

Even better: put a giant in a catapult and send it over a castle wall! Wreaking havoc from the first throw.

Not at my castle, ser!
Teams against and for gelding? I'd rather not, unless your character believes in that sort of thing, and unless there's going to be an NC team instead. I wouldn't like to see players collaborating to have a character cut.Yoren longshore wrote:Maybe we should build 2 teams too? No two teams against, for double success and the like.

Ah, I see. Try to recruit people if you like. I think it's a little hilarious that I don't just need one person for me to assist. I need someone whose persuasion some other person will assist, whom I in turn intend to coordinate.

You're more of a big boss/CEO type. A natural coordinator?

I could try to assist, but I'll let others do it if they wish, as I said, many pcs have insane persuasion.

I don't even know if that's the right person. He's got an HQ, I'm assuming.

Yeah. It's hopefully pretty clear that Daveth is getting pretty near to the end of his rope after what has been a fairly extended period of high stress levels, and now, after a rough night in which his entire diplomatic efforts were nearly wiped out, he's not being his usual amiable self.Lady Corrine Marsten wrote:Loreia Merrgal wrote:http://dragonsdance.forumatic.com/viewtopic.php?f=75&

But yeah, it is at least in private. Just as his conversation with Ben was. He's not aiming to publicly humiliate anyone.

Dunstan, if you would like to assist Corrine with a persuasion test in the thread for PCs watching Benjen's trial, I can add my coordination bonus to your assist to bring her success up higher. Together, we'd give her a +9 for a total of 28.

Or assist/coordinate me to bring me up to a 36.
EDIT: though that might push me well into the "
capped at 4 DoS"
territory...
