Oh, yeah, there are plenty of simple solutions. It's just a matter of which of them gets selected and, as a result whom shall have their plans mucked with.
I don't know as there is feasible solution that would also make everyone happy...

The complicated part is more getting everyone IC up to speed on what happened... that's half the reason I spelled it out here - if everyone understands OOC it is one less barrier to it being understood IC. :;

Wrecker Jon and Fendrel promised troops in return for my personal support, and talking to other members of House Marsten about supporting Fendrel - which I did, albeit 'off screen'. Jon made it clear that they would likely be mercenary troops. Now, IC we only knew about the first two until the Septon's letter, which brought the others to light.... which is why all of this is happening now and not earlier in the tourney.

So, Yoren is getting paid twice to supply troops to the Marsten clan war, and we are apparently getting two units where we were expecting four. Also Septon Arlyn pulled a bait-and-switch on Wrecker Jon, but that doesn't really matter to us, per se... though it might matter to the House Bartheld leadership.

And in fairness to Septon Arlyn he tried negotiating for payment on the loan then Yoren slipped in no payment of interest and support of troops instead. Needless to say Septon Arlyn will be very upset at the bait and switch.

'Telling off' is right! I had to reread to be sure that it wasn't happening within earshot of Ben or other people. How is the brother two years his senior going to handle that?

After looking through the bestiary, I've realized that these references of me as brutish or overly tough have some merit to them. I have the same rank of Endurance as a giant! I mean wow. That puts things into perspective.

We should put a giant in a fullplate, poke it with sticks to make it angry, aim it towards a castle and see what breaks first: the castle or the fullplate!

Ah, I see. Try to recruit people if you like. I think it's a little hilarious that I don't just need one person for me to assist. I need someone whose persuasion some other person will assist, whom I in turn intend to coordinate.

Yeah. It's hopefully pretty clear that Daveth is getting pretty near to the end of his rope after what has been a fairly extended period of high stress levels, and now, after a rough night in which his entire diplomatic efforts were nearly wiped out, he's not being his usual amiable self.

But yeah, it is at least in private. Just as his conversation with Ben was. He's not aiming to publicly humiliate anyone.

Dunstan, if you would like to assist Corrine with a persuasion test in the thread for PCs watching Benjen's trial, I can add my coordination bonus to your assist to bring her success up higher. Together, we'd give her a +9 for a total of 28.
