Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
You're a knight (and now Lord), a certain amount of boldness is socially expected. NPCs don't regard you as a frothing berserker. :;

I'm in the controlled fury camp with Baelon &
the Septon.

Hehe, sorry, Ben. I didn't mean to make you feel self-conscious. Ben definitely has a tipping point, but he usually quite controlled.

Honestly, I think the PC ensemble is on average nicer than the general Westerosi population.

At least one of the new PCs should help correct that. :;

If not, you and Raff will have to try twice as hard.

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
Yeah. I know I have a hard time playing people I don't 'like,' which is a bit of a weakness of mine in a serious RP game. Gwyn is about as bad as I can bring myself to go, and she's basically nice...just conniving and manipulative.

I'd need some bonus XP to get away with all that, though :;

Re: General Non-game Chat Thread
I think that most of the PC enemble has not been pushed as hard as most of the Westerosi population that we see in the books. There are a few characters in the books that are generally willing to screw over others, but most only do so to protect or get revenge for those they love. If, for instance, someone were to assault Gwyn, Baelon's response would be rather dark indeed. I can only imagine what Ben and Corrine would be like if someone were to pull a Mountain on Bethany.Theomore Tullison wrote:Honestly, I think the PC ensemble is on average nicer than the general Westerosi population.

That's the spirit!
Let the wild rumpus/wicked scheming begin!
As we approach the civil war, those who you lot have wronged will begin to put you in difficult positions.
Calm before the storm.
Plus you lot are pretty twisted - to some NPCs, you lot are the bad guys.
- Theomore instigated a brutal sexual assault for political purposes
- Athelstan killed his half-brother
- Corrine is trying to tear apart a mother and baby
- Dyana killed a war hero in the melee
- Nathaniel has done foul deeds for fair ends
- Benedict punched the loveable Garret Snow

I am not a Villain. I'm an Anti-hero. There's a difference.

Which Nathan quickly nixed.
You didn't actually think I would let you jeopardize House Bartheld's livelihood and reputation did you?
Thanks for the barrel of poison wine, btw. I am sure it will come in useful at some point.

I can almost see Raynald Dulver walking down to kill the huntsman doing his happy dance, like the scene in his jail cell when they come to free him in Kingdom of Heaven

HAHAHA, and I watched the movie yesterday. Funny how his participation is very brief in the whole movie yet he makes such a presence. heh Brendan Gleeson right

Yeah, I agree that how much one is pushed is a big factor. The way Corrine is with being idealistic is practically begging to be pushed hard, and I'm not even sure how it would go. I suppose it depends on the circumstances.
And yeah, if anyone hurt or even threatened to hurt Bethany, Ben or Ellie, it would be Mama Bear Smash time!

Veteran's Day in the US. I know Athelstan served his country. I'd hold the door for you, but well, I'm way over here.
Went out to eat with my brother. We started out quite gay, and then it ended in tragedy. Not really, but I'm really mad at him right now. Drama. He's what you'd call a mixed bag.

It's Armistice Day here too (well, was until 10 minutes ago). I share Loreia's sentiments. May all war, someday, become a distant memory, but not those who endured it to protect others.
Loreia, sorry you're having trouble with your brother.

So you guys are saying that Theomore has turned into Theomore by having been pushed around by his step-niece....then grow to adolesence in a warzone, returning home to find that all the family he knew there died in the meantime? Sticking to the lessons thought to him by one of the most dangerous minds of Westeros....hadn't really thought much about it, but it sort of does explain a thing or two.

I'm not saying that's the whole story, but I'd posit that those things were factors in how Theo developed as a person.
