Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
We can arrange a random meeting m'lord Tullison, not a problem, the usual all welcome jousting thread might be a good place.
Edit: Nervous, yes he is it might cost him a lot more than he thinks.

Ouch Ben, Mr. Bracken is going to break you in half if he hits like a truck again.
3 DoS I think, for 30 dmg total, that's some brutal shit

Very close call there Ben, that's if he doesn't finish you off out of spite for some reason, or just breaking you in half is enough for him.

Yes guess I will have to sit back and drink the rest of this tourney.

Well it's just 1 wound, you could still do something during what is left of the Tourney, I doubt you will be able to appear at the Huntsman though

Actually Double check me if you would.
24 attack - 16 PR =8 -5 for another DOS = 2 Dos total.
20 damage - 8AR = 12 - 3(1 injury) = 9 Health 11 -9 damage = 2
*could take more injuries to carry over more health

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
Your math is correct,
2 DoS = 20 -8 = 12 Total Damage
12 - 3 = 9 taking 1 Injury
Health 11 - 9 = 2 Remaining Health
You could take 2 more injuries me thinks
2 DoS = 20 -8 = 12 Total Damage
12 - 9 = 3 taking 3 Injuries
Health 11 - 3 = 8 Remaining Health
-3 Penalty to Fighting and Animal Handling
Remember you will be taking Wounds and if he reliably hits you for 2 DoS which seems likely that's 20 Damage.
Edit: Dunstan keeps blaming poor Athelstan for everything >

come on man, the horse too lol
Edit: If both remain seated, you will most likely fail you next TN 12 ride check since now you need 15 in your dice roll.
All we need is salt and fire for the wounds Yoren, we are ironborn.
You might make it 3 tilts, but you have high chances of ending really hurt and defeated.

Remember everyone - you can just have your health run to zero in the joust instead of taking wounds. I'm not going to have the NPCs going around maiming/killing people without VERY good reason (or if you choose "
eyes fixed!). Killing a half Blackwood isn't a good enough reason.

I am assuming that your 11 health is from 4 Endurance with Flaw(Endurance)?
If so, I believe your injury should reduce the damage by 4, not 3. I do not believe that the injury amount is considered a Derived Statistic.
However, I could be wrong about that. I know it came up in BitW but I don't remember what the final determination was.
Assuming Lord Haig gets 2 DoS consistently, you could would be defeated on tilt 2 if the injury only reduces it by 3 (as you would max out at reducing the next hit to 3, which would still exceed your 2 health. However, if injuries reduce by 4, you would be able to reduce the round 2 damage to 0, and thus make it into the third round - where a point of fatigue would be advisable.
If you don't defeat him by the end of round 2, the best you can hope for is a draw.
Full plate would make all the difference, here. 2 AR isn't much, but it adds up...

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
Alternatively, Ben has Blood of the North or Thoughness for extra HP...
The Brute of Bracken has 10k4 and 5k3.
Ben has 9k4 and 5k3.
Numbers are similar, at high in saddle, he'll hit you with 2 DoS with great reliability when you do defensive, with near certain reliability if you do not. If you do not, however, there's a risk of him getting a nasty 3 DoS, which he would have achieved if you didn't do that just now. At defensive, the 3 DoS only happens with the use of destiny (which I hope the NC's are stingy about using for minor things like this, it's the PC show, after all) or all four test dice ending up 6's which is unlikely.
On the flip side, he can reliably make the TN9 riding roll, but he's got a 50% chance of missing the TN12 roll.
Ben can somewhat reliably make the TN12 roll when doing anything else than braced/High in saddle.
Ben can with near certain reliability get 1 DoS riding on the defensive, and 2 DoS almost half the time.
Under these circumstances, I'd go with a destiny point to reduce his attack roll, you avoid falling of your horse, and you'll likely recover all the damage during catch breath. And then I'll say the odds are about 40-60 in his favor, and you're likely to be forced to take an injury on round 2, but that is factored into the odds. However, it's probably going to be wound or loose the round after you take the first injury, barring further expenditure of destiny. So I'd consider taking defeat unless you are prepared to use two destiny points to avoid taking wound. But with two destiny points spent, you'll probably win as well.

Oh sorry, for some reason I thought you had already posted there. If you would rather be at the breakfast I can certainly alter the quoted post to say just 'Ser Kevan'.

How does melee works? Two teams first and than a free for all afterwards?

Probably wise, my dear. I must claim partial responsibility though, since I chuckled at it too. :?
