"
I'm sorry to have inadvertently left you in the dark, my lord Daveth,"
Corrine replied. "
Gwyneth has become betrothed to Ser Baelon Waters, and I to Ser Benedict Blackthorne."
She was unable to conceal her joy at saying that.

Daveth blinks once at that. My gods. That poor man. Becoming Lord Marsten. It'll destroy him. Still, he smiles at them both. "
Well, congratulations, indeed. From my time with them, they both came across as good men. I'm sure they'll make you both very happy.
"
And please"
he waves dismissively. "
my distraction is entirely my own fault. Thank you for catching me up with the good news."
So, the Marsten-Tullison link remains. But Ser Baelon? Does Lady Marsten intend to put her house's weight behind legitimization? Still, I imagine that's what he was referring to when he was coy about Lady Gwyneth's availability during the negotiations. An interesting political move, at the least. And it means they're pretty firmly Black now, which is useful. One fewer obstacle.

"
Oh, I'm interested in just about everything coming from Essos,"
Gwyneth assured Daveth cheerfully. "
And Yoren, I apologize if I come across as overly confrontational. I'm just a skeptic at heart, I suppose."

Thank you. It is kind of you to say. Is there anyone special in your life, my lord?"
Corrine asks him cheerfully, though with a slightly knowing smile.

Re: Fire and Brimstone D5 (OPEN to all Mid evening)
Athelstan finally leaves the shadows "
Yoren... this will not help your cause, you know this right?"
anger and sadness in his face you should have waited to do this, now you won't be able to be the heir...

Yoren looks to Dunstan: "
may we talk of that in private tomorrow, it is nothing big really, but I'd like to have an open line of communication with you. Shall we just take it tomorrow, when we are both well rested."
He then listens in agreement at the congratulations, only interrupting once to ask Corrine: "
is Kevan with you? I'd like to ask him what he thought..."
Apart from that he is just sitting back, not noticing Athelstan before he starts to speak: "
You think so? I thought it was a success."
Yoren looks a little sad, looking at the ground for a moment before telling defiantly: "
Exposing people to foreign philosophy is always beneficial to them. The ironborn will also see where I am coming from now, whereas before I was a mystery."

Corrine asks him cheerfully, though with a slightly knowing smile.
Funny you should ask that"
Daveth replies, with just a hint of dryness to his tone. "
But yes, there is a lady who has most definitely caught my interest. But you'll forgive me for not saying more. One would not wish to be presumptive in such matters."
(OOC: particularly because the morning thread is still ongoing. IC I could have totally blown it by now. :;

"
I did not bring him, though I did mention it to him. Perhaps he was delayed,"
Corrine told Yoren.
She smiled at Daveth;
"
Well, I wish you luck. Faint heart never won fair lady."

Yoren looks a little shocked at this: "
She is not mannish, she is simply free willed."

"
Oh? I was just adding onto Corrine's statement,"
Gwyn said innocently, looking around at Yoren. She raised an eyebrow. "
Why? Do you know something I don't?"

"
Oh come now, Gwyn, don't be a meanie,"
Corrine playfully scolded. "
She's fierce and strong. Those qualities are admirable in women too."

Yoren looks slightly put off: "
is she not your cousin?"
Before he understands that they are only joking.

Just some jesting between friends, Yoren,"
Corrine explained. "
Gwyn loves her sister really."

Dunstan looks at Corrine, and than at Daveth.
"
Are you..."
he says to Daveth, "
you and Dyana?"
he smirks mischievously.
"
She is a good one, I wish you happiness! But do watch out, I believe she can drink you under the table!"

"
Thank you, Lady Corrine. Your wishes are well appreciated, and there is definite truth to your words. I feel the pursuit brings out the best in me."
Or at least the Garret in you. Is that a good thing?
Unlike Yoren, Daveth recognises the jest, and does not engage.Gwyneth Marsten wrote:"

It is currently naught but a notion we are sounding out together. But thank you. I am hopeful it will work out. And while we haven't put it to the test yet, I rather suspect that your assessment is accurate."
with an amused smile.

Re: Fire and Brimstone D5 (OPEN to all Mid evening)
Athelstan shakes his head to Yoren "
Do as it suits you, you are a free man, but heed lord Dunstan words"
at least for once something sensible came out of this hypocrite lout. looking at Dunstan with indifference.
"
Congratulations in the engagement"
Athelstan raises his wineskin "
It's one of your special wines Yoren, I figure you shouldn't keep your guests away of your wine from Essos, at least something they can enjoy"
giving the wineskin to Yoren so he can pass it around listening to everyone speaking up close and looking at Gwyneth "
Congratulations"
and a slight nod with a faint grin.

Yoren nods and starts sending skins around. He ejoys sitting and listening to people, and right now he feels comfortable around these people.

Athelstan making his presence known made Corrine's spine stiffen, and she glanced awkwardly at Yoren.
"
My lord Yoren, might we have that private word now? I should not linger too long."

Athelstan puts his hand on Yoren's shoulder "
We will talk later, you must realize what the consequences of this entails"
a sorrowful sight is all that Athelstan has for Yoren "
Well, I can't deny Yoren knows how to put a show and count on him to always get the fire started when you are camping"
grinning

Dunstan mainly stood tall next to Corrine as Athelstan approached, eager to protect her in case the unpredictable ironborn tries something.
Speaking to Yoren: "
Yes, we can talk tomorrow. In the Sept mayheaps?"

"
Don't let my presence ruin your moments, I just brought more wine and speak few words to Yoren"
smiling at all present "
Now if you excuse me I'll go back to sit amongst my own and celebrate my victory in the joust today"
waving all good bye and rejoining the other ironborn to mock the Mallisters.
