Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
I've thought about picking up a cohort to have a squire... but I'm having trouble keeping up on just Baelon's stuff right now, so it's not a good time for me as a player to pick up another character to deal with.

It's the way Raff gets to operate that I admire. Setting a camp on fire and getting away without being noticed? Spectacular. Replace the camp with Ironborn ships, and Loreia might even like him for it. It's just that, y'know, he's evil. Such a shame.
It's up to you to come up with a reason to get him across the Narrow Sea. He's your cohort, he'll follow you for one reason or another. Every offseason month or story day is a waste of the DP you spent to have him in the first place. Now you've got me curious. Maybe without knowing, he's doing something in Essos that can help you when you eventually contact him?Yoren longshore wrote:I've had one all along, it's just that it wouldn't make sense for him to leave essos, so he doesn't really do much

Evil? This isn't Tolkien, this is Martin. There's no such thing as good and evil. There's stuff that is bad for you, stuff that is bad for others and then there's stuff that's really, really bad for everyone. Net sum is always negative.
That doesn't mean that someone can't profit though.

I don't always use emoticons, but when I do, I'm not serious.

Pity that the trial was postponed until the end of the tourney, the whole idea was to have Benjen show up injured due to the fire. Incidentally, that was the outcome anyway, but pffft, I like to take credit for things.
Indeed - this had a significant impact by costing Ser Benjen destiny off-screen that he NEEDED in the trial by combat.

Completely off topic: How do you lot feel about Total War games, more specific their new Warhammer edition?
As said, completely off topic, so if people wish I may remove this post;

This is the thread for off-topic things.
I have watched my partner play the Napoleon and Rome ones, but I'm not an RTS person, in general (Civ 5 is my exception).

What sort of computer games do you play, rpgs
I didn't quite like napoleon, too much gunpowder, so I'm a little sceptical about this one, though the rpg elements seem great!

I generally favour RPGs, interactive drama, and indie puzzler-platformers, but not exclusively so.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
I alway ever played the total war games as round-based strategy games as my PC was never good enough to really handle the RTS-parts :;

To me the RTS parts just got too easy against the AI, but it seems that they have fixed this. They also said that they would add lower graphics for the weaker PCs. I remember that I used to play it on my laptop when I was travelling, and those frame rates looked like pictures:)

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
I hate RTS. I own Divinity: Dragon Commander, but I stopped after the map got huge. I won one battle in RTS mode and lost two, and then I was like "
screw that"
. My first RTS was Brutal Legend, and they trick you into it! It doesn't look like an RTS at first. I didn't finish that one either. I like rpgs and interactive story stuff. Whatever you call the games that Telltale makes, those ones, I like those.

Re: General OOC Chatter Thread
So I don't know why I wanted to withhold this from player knowledge when everyone knows that me and Ben almost came to blows during the Greens and Blacks event at the end of the Riverrun tourney, and had the matter settled privately. Probably to keep the players from acting meta, but any undue confusion this may have caused outweighs that concern, so I apologize for any convenience.
The bracers Loreia gifted Ben at the wedding have the Superior weapon quality and provide the associated bonus, armed/unarmed.

It's ok, I feel I picked that up. My read of it was that the altercation had you both riled up, but Ben backing down and apologising, and Daveth advising peace, led you both to bury the hatchet, for the sake of our houses and loved ones.

IC conflict, handled well. I enjoyed those scenes in the sept, brought in other pcs well too.
Will see if I can drive some more wedges in story 2...

I on the other hand, secretly (yeah, well, not really secretly I guess) hopes that IC efforts to resolve conflict fails spectacularly.
But needs to make sense to story, sadly.

That's why it's good to negotiate OOC to make sure each party is happy and the decisions make sense and drive narrative.

Now THIS is conflict and drama. Well done everyone for making this happen.
Well done out of character that is.
It's a fairly dark path that led us here.
Now, who's got blond hair and sleeps around among the male PCs...

It's ok if it's with your betrothed. That's practically married anyway, by the law of the time. Totally not the same as doing it with a woman that you know recently did it with someone else, thus rendering the progeny of their child ambiguous.
